“great location, decent accommodations”

Not bad. Great location. It is one of about 10 hotels located within the first block of the entrance to Disneyland. It is NOT a new hotel. It is an older style with individual building-blocks of rooms with gardens between. Our room was clean and adequate. The pool was big, but a bit cold. Not bad for the money.

We just returned from a 3-night stay at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. There were 5 of us, of three generations, and we had a family suite in the 700 building. The consensus is that this hotel was the perfect choice for us.
We weren't seeking a luxury hotel and we wanted to be able to walk to the parks. We also didn't need room service or a fancy restaurant. What we got was two clean, spacious, and quiet rooms with huge vanities (four sinks for five people!), new TV's with a hundred channels, and a view of the fireworks out our window. We came home in the middle of two very hot days and spent time in the terrific and refreshing pool.
It's true that this is an older hotel and needs some work. The floor in the bathroom could use replacing, and the paint is peeling on the arches over the walkways. The phone was very "staticky." But that's probably why Triple-A ranks it at 2-Diamonds. (They wouldn't rank it at all if it weren't clean...)
For price and location, this is a great choice for a family. It left us with more money to spend on park-hoppers and airfare, and we would definitely consider staying there again.

The hotel was conviniently located near the Disneyland Theme Parks and with just a five minute walk, you are at the entrance of the theme park. You can even see the fireworks from the hotel lobby entrance. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet in the morning which includes hashbrowns, eggs, and sausage just to name a few. The rooms however varied in ammenities such as a old fashion TV to a newer TV, a microwave or no microwave, a refrigerator or no refrigerator. Each room is connected to the room beside it which is good if you have a large party but bad if you are traveling alone. Service of the hotel was average because they would come in every morning and make the room. Overall, this hotel is great for a family who wants to be frugal and travel on a budget.

My family and I had a great stay at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. Our first stay was 27 May to 29 May and we stayed in the 700 building. We were on the 2nd floor with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was big with two sinks, which really came in handy. Our 2nd stay was 31 May to 3 June and we stayed in the 600 building on the first floor. We had an outside patio with some chairs.

The hotel is older, but was very clean and the staff was very friendly. All special requests were met with a smile and quickly taken care of. The pool and hot tub were perfect, although we didn't get to use them much and the Disneyland fireworks can be seen from the hotel. The location is great, it is a very short walk to Disneyland and there are several restaurants near by.

If you are looking for a nice hotel that is a reasonable price, close to Disneyland and clean with a friendly staff, this is the place for you.

Lets start with the room conditions:(We had more than 1 room) They smelled horrid!! My shower curtin did not fit the tub, that caused a flood every time someone took a shower. Carpets were sticky. Main light was burnt out, clock raido did not work. Gaint hair ball in tub drain. Spider under bedsheet. There was a french fry under our bed and not one of us was eating fries!! Let's just say it was not good.
Positive note: Hotel desk staff were nice. Big pool. You can walk to Disneyland from hotel.

My partner and I stayed here from the 14th to the 18th of May 2006 (Sunday-Thursday). We chose to stay during the week to avoid the heavy weekend crowds at Disneyland and thankfully we were successful in that.

Anaheim Plaza and Suites is a cheap hotel by any means. The four nights cost us a total of $263.76USD (tax included) which we were very pleased about. We selected this property after careful consideration and utilising several websites with travel reviews. Therefore we weren't expecting luxury! Our main criteria was cost and proximity to Disneyland.

Check-in saw us lining up for about ten minutes. There was only one lady behind the counter and she had to contend with two families with little kids before she got to us. She processed us very promptly once it was our turn and granted us a ground level room which we had requested.

The room was quite large and had a small fenced off courtyard with two plastic chairs and a table which we used throughout the stay (my other-half is a smoker). Otherwise I wasn't impressed with the room. The building is old, the room had a nasty odour and I found the bed linen to be slightly damp everyday (weather maybe???). The bathroom was okay but the taps and fixtures were just plain dirty which I found off-putting.

You get a lot of noise at night and in the morning from people walking through the outdoor corridors and the hotel walls are thin. Not a huge issue, but if you're a light sleeper you'll definitely be woken up. If you're travelling alone you also might feel a bit less-than-secure with the outdoor walkways.

On the plus-side our air-conditioner worked well, the king-size bed was very comfy and the room was cleaned up everyday. Water pressure was also very good in the shower. There is a coin laundry which we used and that was great after 10 days of travelling around the US. The TV was fantastic! Great reception in our room and about 40 channels (we're not used to that being from Australia where only a small minority of households have 'cable TV').

All in all you can't expect more than basic accomodation when you don't spend alot of money, and the negatives I have mentioned aren't that bad. We were very happy with the location and spent a good 10-12 hours each day over at the two Disneyland theme parks and Downtown Disney. We used the room to shower and watch a bit of TV before going to sleep (and shower in the morning, too).

We didn't really come into contact with the hotel staff except for check-in and check-out but they seemed relatively friendly. The front desk was busy every time we walked past so it's obviously a popular hotel (or maybe they're all like that around Disneyland).

One thing I found interesting was the 'Mi Casita Bar and Grill' (just off lobby area). We had a little brochure in our room advertising 'Happy Hour 6pm-7pm' which we were keen to participate in on our first night there (Sunday). The bar was not open once in the whole time we were there! Perhaps it shuts early or isn't open early in the week... Not important I suppose.

We didn't eat or drink at the hotel even though there is a cheap buffet breakfast every day ($6.95 if my memory serves me correctly) and that was busy every morning when we walked past on our way to Disneyland.

In conclusion I would not stay here again. There are heaps of hotels a bit further up the road, some even closer to the Disneyland entrance. I would seriously consider spending a bit more money next time for something a tad nicer.

Not only did i get this property at a great price, the quality of the rooms were fantastic. Our rooms were serviced daily, our location one of the best in Anaheim and the huge heated pool in the middle of Winter went down really well. We were able to watch the fireworks every night from disney from our balcony.

I am a travel agent in Vancouver and i am using this property to recommend as many people i can who want a great priced property. The facilities were perfect, restraunt, games room, spa and sauna. I dont understand why other peoples reviews are not agreeing with this.

Oh well, check it out it made my stay at Anaheim!
