“Why stay here?”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

I'm trying to think of a reason for staying at this hotel but really cannot come up with one.

My family recently spent 5 nights at the hotel, on a Disneyland vacation of sorts.
I initially found the hotel to be similar to that of a Motel 6, from years ago. On the street side, the hotel looks appealing, but when you enter the parking lot, it stops there. The building looks old and the parking lot has seen better days.

Since we were traveling with a teenager, we booked a room that offered 2 bathrooms and a second room (bedroom). The second bathroom really came in handy. I was a little dissapointed by the bedroom aspect, it had a set of bunk beds and a sofa bed which required moving all the furniture to let it out. The room does not have it's own air conditioning unit, instead it has a exhaust fan in the wall to help "pull" air in to the room, it didn't really help that much. We did ask for a floor fan which staff graciously brought to us.
Overall the rooms were acceptable.

The pool/spa area is really lacking. The hotel mentions on their website that they recently completed a million dollar renovation, but I don't think it included the pool area. I was dissapointed with what the whole area looked like, in addition, when my son and I were in the hot tub, the water smelled terrible, like it didn't have any chlorine in it at all.

The location of the hotel is within walking distance to AM/PM and Denny's, with a little further walk you can get to IHop. It is right on the Anaheim resort bus line, wihich makes getting to Disney very easy, the hotel gift shop also sells tickets. Some reviewers mention that it is a 15-20 minute walk to Disneyland, but I would argue this is not the case. It is a bit further than that, if you're going to be walking at Disney all day, save your feet and take the bus.

The hotel also offers a continental breakfast. Your standard waffle maker, bread/muffins and cold donuts from the grocery store and cereals. They also had bacon/sausage and pre-formed egg patties in a warmer. If you have kids traveling with you, this would certainly be an advantage.

For the money, I would find a hotel a little closer to Disney, there really was't anything special about this hotel that would make me want to go back, especially not with all the choices in the area. I think in order for BW to remain competitive, this hotel really needs to step up their game a bit, a little granite and new bedding in the room doesn't cut it anymore.

Room Tip: If you get a room with a second bedroom, keep in mind that it does not have it's own air conditi...

We stayed here May 27-June 6 2011, in a 2 queen, 2 bathroom, 2 tvs, with bunk beds and a couch, frdge and microwave on 3rd floor room in the middle. our room was clean and fully functioning. the layout was fine but the ac didnt circulate air very well into the kids room, (mino) but if weaqther was super hot it could be an issue. Not old but not new furnishingings- but who needs flat screen TVs while on a DL vacation, however i have heard since then they are currently remolding ALOT!

there were some minor construction/remodeling on the first floor but it didn't affect anything,

the elevator is small, old school- but fully functioning and get the job done!!!

Breakfast was good, nice dining area. The pool was clean and always used!!! Parking was packed at night and vacant daily- we didn't drive but we had local visitors and didn't notice any issues either

our biggest issue was the railing in the 3rd level it was shaky to the touch. . kinda creepy, we reported and they seemed concerned.

the ART stops right out front, which was great but we could walk faster then the ride especially on the way back to the hotel when leaving the park- we walked to Disneyland, 10-15 minutes we had a group of 7 including, including an infant in a stroller and a teen in a wheelchair. We did see a bum sleeping in a bench but that's no different then out home state of Colorado.. the area is nice, common sense wont hurt. I NOT once felt unsafe, EVER!!

hotel was occupied by tons of families, so noise with kids is expected. inside the rooms you didn't hear anything from the room next door.

i received a package and a letter via the mail and ups while there, the front desk staff delivered it on arrival.

We take a performing arts school group to Anaheim each year to perform at Disneyland and we select this property. Again in 2011, the service was outstanding. The front office staff and sales team could not do enough to ensure that the group were safe, happy and felt welcome.
The wooden floors do mean that it is noisier than other motels (unless you are on the top floor), but the cleanliness and service far outweigh a little noise.

Room Tip: Go for a room on the top floor to avoid hearing your neighbours above you.

About 15-20 min walk from the park entrance which seemed bit far after spending all day in the parks, but worth it in our estimation. Prices were lower than the hotels directly across from Disneyland and the rooms were in much better shape. Not top of the line, but we spent all day at the parks and only needed the room to sleep in. Floors were hardwood compared to carpet, so the room felt MUCH cleaner than other rooms we've stayed in. This is a plus for us because our kids throw off their shoes the minute we walk indoors. The breakfast was pretty good. Make your own waffles, doughnuts, pasteries, hard boiled eggs, cereal, coffee (with french-vanilla creamer - score!), juice, and milk. Scrambled eggs, potatoes or something less sugary would have been nice, but can't complain, it's free. Dining room was small but we were able to find tables to eat without a problem. They have a flat screen playing cartoons during breakfast which keeps the kids from arguing while you run back and forth getting the food. During peak season, I can see the dining room getting crowded, but they let you take food out to the rooms. Overall, better than many of the hotels we've stayed in around the Disneyland area. I give it a 3.5 star, we'll probably stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose upper floors if possible. We stayed on the first floor and could hear the stomping from rooms...

Room was very clean, nice bunk beds for kids. pullout couch bed could have been better, but extra blankets and pillows were provided. we were on the third floor and the elevator was a ways away. Laundry machine was broken. Very nice breakfast offered with lots of options. Very close to Disneyland and good transportation options.
