“Very good hotel for the price with a great continental breakfast.....”
Reviewed 9 April 2010

First let me say that the review of the last 2 people were right on about what is in the continental breakfast and what the room looks like. The breakfast was great with many options but after the 4th day you will want to eat at denny's or on mainstreet at the Carnation for mickey waffles! We also had the kids suite....first room has 2 queen beds which were very comfortable along with a bathroom/closet area. In our room there was a solid door that went into the kids room with bunkbeds and a pull out couch and also a bathrrom/closet area. Bunkbeds were comfortable, kids didn't complain but the pull out couch had a miserable mattress if you could call it that. Thank goodness we had 2 small kids sleeping on it so they didn't sink down.
ok, let's get to the parking....free parking at the hotel was great but they are very narrow spots and it is a small lot and gets full by 11pm. People were double parking in back of other cars so you hoped they were gone in the morning when you were ready to leave.......Let me tell you what else we found out.....parking at Disneyland has changed due to the building of California Adventures. They now have several parking lots surrounding disneyland that you pay $14 a day to park in and then they bus you over to the entrance of disneyland. The Toy Story parking lot happens to be RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the best western raffles inn!! after the first day of paying to park next door to the hotel we thought it was ridiculous. We had my hubby drive us to disney and drop us off, then he drove back to park in the hotel parking lot and walked over to disneyland himself. When we were done for the day at Disneyland.....we just hopped on the Toy Story parking bus that Disney provides, it took us to the toy story parking lot (get off at Woody) and we walked right next door to our hotel. It saved us the $14 per day parking and it saved our kids legs at night not having to walk all the way back to the hotel from disneyland. It is literally right next door.
We had a good stay at this hotel.....I was worried because there was a couple of comments about cockroaches but believe me, the room was very clean and exactly what you see in the pictures. They must have redone the rooms after that person stayed or maybe because they went in the summer???? not sure but our room didn't have any bugs and we were very happy with it. - also you can use the computer with internet in the lobby for free. another tip - there is a store across from the lobby that sells .99 cent waters....buy a couple to take into disneyland because in the park it is $2.79 and you will save some money. ....going to downtown disney? Parking at downtown disney is free for 3hrs and if you get your parking ticket validated by a restaurant there then you get another 2hrs for free!!! VERY SMALL POOL too.....but it worked and the kids had fun. Have a great vacation - we sure did.

So after reading lots of reviews and speaking with a travel agent who was leaning more towards a hotel on disney property it was not in our budget. We decided to stay here and was much nicer than I expected. We got a ground floor room, It has 2 queen beds, and included a microwave & mini fridge. The breakfast in the morning was an added bonus, During our 5 days it was all the same, The offered muffins, donuts, toast & boiled eggs as well as hot waffles, cereal, juices, milk, coffee & hot chocolate. The rooms were clean, beds were a little hard for my comfort, but after full days at disney I was able to sleep, there is one computer with internet in the lobby as well as fruit & coffee all hours. I believe they also offered internet in the rooms, but we did not bring the laptop. The room also had an upgrade available for games via tv. The downside was the transportation via Anaheim transit, the bench is right by the hotel so leaving for Disney is no problem, but returning takes a while, Buses should run every 15-20 minutes. However one day of leaving the park we waited almost 45 minutes for the bus, and then it has the longest route, taking you on a 25 minute bus ride around to the Hilton & then back to our hotel. I learned later we could take bus #6 instead of #14 home, get off at the doubletree which is across the street from Best Western and then just walk across the street and save a lot of time! Because the rooms face the parking lot you can see fireworks at night, but you can also hear others as they walk outside by your room.
They do give free parking which is a plus to other hotels around, plus they are very close to target, and many resteraunts, Dennys is within a Block.

I really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean and quiet. We checked in Sat, left on Monday morning. Parking was okay we were able to find parking after returning from disneyland around 11:30p.m no problem. Breakfast was good could be a little better but over all my teenagers didn't complain. It's not walking distance so with small children can be hard. overall I would stay again.

We've stayed at three hotels along Harbor Blvd over several visits to Disney over the last 5 or 6 years travelling with our two young kids now 9 and 4 along with our 18 year old niece. We picked the Raffles this time because we wanted a little bit more space and a separate room for the kids and the room seemed spacious in the internet photos. Our last stay at a "suite" was the BW Park Place Inn directly across from the Disney entrance gate 2 years ago. Our disappointment with the Park Place was the "suite" was actually a sofa bed separated by a low wall - it was not actually a separate private enclosed area - so it really didn't meet our needs for a room with a closed off room so the kids could go to bed early. For this reason we chose the Raffles. Our disappointment here was although the room with the bunkbeds was spacious and comfortable and the kids loved it, but the door was a sliding louvered door like you might see on a closet and not a solid door so the adults still had to be quiet after we put the kids to bed. The sofa bed for our niece in the kids room was appalling, which I discovered when I sat on it - the springs were so lumpy and the mattress was so thin that an adult would be hard pressed to have a comfortable sleep on it. My niece is quite petite and lightweight however she still said that she could feel all the lumpy springs and the bar that runs about halfway down crosswise and had to keep shifting around to stay comfortable. The queen bed in the main room was comfortable. Opening and closing the door to the bathroom required some shuffling around (inside) if someone wanted to come in or out (as kids tend to do) while it was occupied. The door couldn't swing open or closed past your knees without shifting sideways while on the toilet. The breakfast was a nice continental so I'm not sure why some people rate it unfavourably - continental is what you get. The ladies kept the food stocked throughout the opening times, even when we arrived 20-30 min before closing - no issues. As a Canadian I found the choices a little sugary - donuts, danishes, Froot Loops and Frosted flakes, however was able to have a respectable breakfast of english muffins, fresh fruit, oatmeal and make your own waffles. We did bring our own peanut butter as that was not offered. All cutlery was plastic and all dishes were styrofoam which I abhor on an environmental consideration, plus I would never microwave ANYTHING in styrofoam (oatmeal), so we went to the Target a couple of blocks south and bought two ceramic bowls for 89cents each for our oatmeal. The Pam ran out after our 2nd day and was never restocked (for the waffle maker) so although it was still possible to make waffles they got a little sticky. Most foodservice establishments have deliveries at least twice a week so during our 8 night stay I'm surprised the Pam was not restocked. For a family with small children the walk to Disney is not an option - it's about 4 lights but the blocks are VERY long so it is easily 15-20min - not something you want to do at the end of a long day. the shuttle is $4 per adult ($1 per child) per day so with the 5 of us it was the same price to park at the Mickey parking structure at Disney for $14 per day. One other reviewer said the Raffles is only a few stops from Disney on the way there on the shuttle, however one of the last on the way home - not the best arrangement. Overall no serious gripes about the hotel, I think people just have bad epxeriences sometimes and it can happen to the best properties too. I think we got some good value and my main downsides would be the lack of a solid door to the kids bunk room and the walking distance to Disney. I think we'll exlpore another hotel within a max five minute walking distance next time.

We needed a place to hang our hats while we attended meetings and had fun at the local attractions. The property was generously sized, clean, convenient to just about everything and even had an interesting pool. The staff, Ms. Ceja, Maria and Jerry (hope I got the names right) were extremely accomodating. Why stay anywhere else? You couldn't beat the price if you tried. OH, and don't forget the free internet access in the lobby!

Like most hotels in Anaheim, the Raffles caters specifically to families visiting Disneyland. Check-in was easy and we were able to purchase Disneyland tickets and ART shuttle tickets right there. Nice touches such as fresh fruit and hot coffee in foyer, as well as a small gift shop with souveniers and basic grocery items across the driveway. A computer & printer was also available in the foyer. We booked via Hotwire and were pleased we weren't hit by the hidden 'resort fee' like the Holiday Inn charged. Parking was free although would be tight when the hotel is full. Nice pool and spa. The ART shuttle stop ($4 all day) is right at the door and only a few stops going to DL. Conversely, you're at the end of the line coming home. About a 15-20 minute walk otherwise. Plentiful if not average breakfast with enough choice to keep everyone happy. Rooms are a little dated but still comfortable. In reality most people will only use the Raffles for sleeping, maybe a swim and breakfast and for this it is more than adequate. Recommended unless you want to be right at the front door of Disneyland.

This was my second stay at the Best Western Inn. My four children are all older so as compared to the last stay years ago, the hotel felt a little cramped. All of the other reviews seem accurate as far a an adequate breakfast, service. The hotel did have to valet park for us which worked fine.

Here is why I would choose a different hotel next time... the hotel is about a mile from the park. Day 1, we walked and it seemed fine. But by 11pm, the walk home was long and you know how much you walk in the park so it was too exhausting. I noticed there were some "suite" hotels right across from the main gate and I thought this would be preferrable to be able to take breaks from the park and go back and forth. We ended up driving to the Mickey garage since we had free AAA parking and taking the tram. It took twice as long as walking but was easier.

Yes there is the shuttle bus but with six of us, it was $4 pp, per day, so another $24 when we could drive park for free. I will just stay closer next time.

I noticed some of the hotels right near the main gate had "suite" rooms which would also work with a big family.

I would also caution someone, or prepare them if they go the week between Christmas and New Years. It was crowded beyond belief and the hotel close at 80,000 capacity. The fast passes run out and even as much as getting food involves huge lines. It is still a ton of fun but bring your patience with you.
