Reviewed 18 July 2010

This hotel was booked for us as part of a packaged tour.
Great service all around, from reception-desk thru to room-cleaning and on-site gift shop/convenience store. The room fit the bill and exceeded our expectations (Ground floor Building 5). There was no microwave in our room but the reception staff happily warmed our meals in their microwave.
We weren't aware of freeway noise as it was probably drowned out by the noisy room air conditioner. The only other negative was the unavailability of soy milk in the onsite shop, requiring an 8-block drive to Vons supermarket to get some.
Note: LA water is yuck compared to Melbourne (AUS) town water but bottled water is readily available for purchase from vending machines in each accommodation block for US$1.50 per bottle. Save your quarters as you will need them for the vending machine and the on-site laundry. The free WiFi is wonderful, and the hotel staff are readily forthcoming with hints and tips to save on costs during your stay.
The walk to Disneyland isn't too bad and if your feet are really sore there is a shuttle bus to/from the hotel every 15 mins or so for US$4 per day per person (tickets available from hotel reception).
We would stay there again quite happily but would request a room with a quieter air-conditioner.

booked this hotel based on reviews and we were not disappointed. great hotel for kids - excellent water playground which kept the kids entertained and there is a pool area for adults who dont have kids. walkign distance to disneyland and decent places to eat. rooms were good size and clean and had fridge & microwave with table and chairs. has laundry facility and free internet and computers as well.
if you have small kids make sure you bring your own swimmer nappies as a few mini marts are selling normal nappies at $3 each! also bring your own milk as all mini marts sell it at $3-$4 a litre.

We travel from Texas to Disneyland every year, and had never known about the HOJO until this year! We have 2 girls ages 6 and 7 who truly loved our stay! I did try and get the kids suite, I tried for about 6 months but to no avail, but maybe next year we will book it early enough! The room with 2 double beds was quite roomy, especially since we did just sleep there! The 2 pool areas kept us and the kids quite busy, they absolutley loved both pools! My kids love going to Disneyland every year and we always get bunkbeds for them, just a special treat that they always look forward to! But this year they said we don't care about bunkbeds anymore we just love HOJO! It really is a short walk to the main gate, even after a long day!!
I highly recommend this hotel, we were there for 10 days and the hotel was a great way for us to spend a few days swimming with our kids and relaxing, which on a Disneyland vacation we don't do much of!

This is our second time returning to this hotel with one preteen daughter and a 13 year old son. We were at the HoJo from July 4 - 11th. One of the manager's checked us in later that night. We wanted a room with a fridge and a microwave, and 2 queens, but all they had left was a room with a fridge only and full sized double beds. They also have a safe in the room. The next morning, we received a call from the front desk as per the manager's notes and received a complementary upgrade to a room with 2 queen beds and a microwave. We were able to see the matterhorn from our balcony and watch the nightly fireworks. You could also watch the fireworks from the parking lot area. We love the location as it is only a 10 minute or less casual walk to the main gates at Disney. We also love dining at Mimi's Cafe which is close to the hotel. The food there is good and they also give you big portions, which my 13 year old loves! The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful! The property has a small little arcade and a swimming pool, a kid's water park area, jacuzzi, and a small store to purchase postcards, soveniers, breakfast, lunch items, & other snacks.
We will stay here again the next time we visit for sure!

Booked a good deal through Air New Zealand (included $1 disney tickets!). Rooms are very clean and good value for amount charged. Not a luxury hotel, but still very nice. Our deluxe room had 2 queen beds, fridge & microwave. Nice landscape, with pools for everyone to use (not just small children). Free internet in lobby. Small snack shop on site. Only 5 minutes walk to Disneyland. Area felt quite safe. Recommend Mimis Cafe across the road for breakfast - lots of choices, large servings, free drink refills & reasonable prices. Join their club online for discount vouchers. We caught the local bus to Main Place Shopping Mall - about 20 minutes ride away - $4 all day pass - lots of clothes shops & some department stores. Recommend "KLS Transport" (ph 1-714-3985238) if need a private car to/from other areas of LA - fixed price travel rather than unknown taxi charge eg $80 to Hollywood. "Supershuttle" good to use to/from the airport - $16 per person.

Friends recommended the hotel and we were not disappointed. We had adjoining rooms in bldg one with a view of Disneyland. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. The room had a microwave and small bench so we could eat breakfast in our room and save some money.
We'd recommend getting some basic groceries because Disneyland lets you take in snacks include drinks.
The hotel pools were a big hit with our kids (8 & 10) who played on the small slide etc for ages while we read and soaked in the hot tub.
We would stay there again.

I try to be objective but sorry folks-- I can't be when it comes to this place. Got the deluxe Disney view room this time, splurgin a little because I entered a contest for this hotel awhile back and my consolation prize was rooms half off a stay there until 2011. Was imagining all sorts of problems with this and of course there was no problem-- check out was smooth as butter. Beautiful room, great firework view, awesome maid service. Love the new kerig coffe makers! Only issue was the jacuzzi closing so early-- at 10 pm, I'm sure that has a lot to do with people abusing play area privileges, C'mon garden pool jacuzzi!
