“Great Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2007

I booked this hotel on the strength of it's proximatey to DisneyLand. It wasn't the cheapest in the area and certainly not the most expensive, but it's location just cannot be beaten, it is right opposite the main entrance (you could even see the monorail from our room) 5 mins walk at the most and your walking down Main Street! (depending on the street light and ticket booth queue) On arrival my Husband and I were greeted by staff in reception who seemed genuinly pleased to meet us and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were assigned a double room on the top floor which was extremely comfortable and clean, there were amenities in the bathroom plus tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. We were welcomed with a fruit basket and bottle of wine.
Reception staff helped us plan our stay perfectly, we bought our Park Hopper pass from them, and also booked a Hollywood tour with what we were told was the hotels prefered tour guide, the tour was fairly cheep and we did get to see most everything we wanted, but it was extremely rushed and the tour guide was nuts!
Breakfast is included in the price and was just what we needed to get us going ready for Disney, don't expect bacon and eggs but fresh waffles, toast, donuts, pastries and hot coffee were great for us, and eating it outside on the terrace was nice.
We didn't use the pool much, but we did sit and dip our tired feet one evening after too much walking, the pool was clean and warm, with towels provided.
We only had a few downsides, on our last night we were called late by reception saying the guest below had complained about the noise we were making, we explained that was impossible as we were sleeping and had been woken by the phone! Perhaps some investigation into where the noise was coming from before making the call would have been reasonable.
Although we were given a bottle of wine we were unable to open it as it was a cork and not screw top.
When taking a shower the plug hole didn't soak away and you ended up filling the tub.
As I said these really are small complaints and they wouldn't stop me from staying at the Park Vue Inn again, in fact I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

To begin with, we have visited Disneyland a number of times. We have two children and priorities (with respect to lodgings) change over time. We have stayed at the Castle Inn (where there was a wading pool), the Carriage Inn and Howard Johnson. Our first inclination was to return to the Howard Johnson. We have stayed there several times and have recommended it to numerous friends.

We decided to switch away from the Howard Johnson in order to gain two things: a complimentary breakfast and separate beds for our 10 and 12 year old boys. The boys are too heavy to lift from one bed to another and go to sleep more easily when they are not sharing a bed.

Anyhow, after considerable internet research, we decided that we’d give the Park Vue Inn a try. We were very disappointed and would not recommend Park Vue to anyone. There were four areas of concern…

1) The breakfast. We arrived in Anaheim late (after midnight) and were there for a holiday. We did not set an alarm so we could be at breakfast at 8 o’clock. Usually we arrived at the breakfast room at about 9 o’clock. Since breakfast was supposed to be available until 9:30 on weekdays and 10:00 on weekends, we were within the timeframe stipulated. We saw yoghurt once. On one of the mornings , there was only one kind of cereal (Fruit Loops), no yoghurt , no mini muffins, only wheat bread and one, sad-looking doughnut. We feel that if you are going to offer breakfast, it should be available until 9:30 and should not be a case of, “The early bird catches the worm.” The breakfast room attendant was friendly throughout and we would have tipped her generously if the breakfast had actually been available until 9:30. I don’t know if (a) she is not given enough food or (b) she doesn’t replenish because she doesn’t want to have to put remainders away. Either way, the breakfast (one of our key reasons for being there) was a disappointment.
2) The pool area looks quite appealing online but it is shabby and the water temperature seems to fluctuate quite a lot. The chairs look old. It is not an appealing pool. Stand on an upstairs balcony some night and listen to the folks enjoying adjacent pools. More often than not, during our stay, the pool was empty while neighboring pools were being used and enjoyed.
3) During the year, we travel for business, pleasure and sports-team related events. We were very surprised that you did not offer internet access in some form or another . We have stayed in numerous lodgings that offered a pc (near the lobby) for guests to check email, etc. For an inn this size, we would think a business centre would be provided.
4) Finally, and not a big deal, but we can’t figure out the inconsistency of the television. When we first arrived, we were assigned room 105. In that room, we got only a few channels – two of which were “Disney” channels. After a few days we asked if a quieter room might be available. The morning foot traffic to the breakfast room can be quite noisy as folks stomp their way up the stairs. We moved to another room and got a different mix of channels – no “Disney” channels but more ”other” channels. Many channels were quite fuzzy (unwatchable). We weren’t there to watch television so it was not really a big deal but it did seem quite odd. Don’t know if it is a satellite issue…

Yes, we agree with some of the other reviewers who stressed that this hotel is quite noisy especially in the early morning.

The Park Vue Inn was great - - it met all of our needs. They let us arrive early, even though our room wasn't ready (approx. 9am day of check-in) and leave our car in their lot so we could go to Disneyland. Then, the next day after we checked out, they allowed us to leave our car in their lot all day again, while we visited California Adventure. That saved us a lot of money on parking! I can't remember exactly what we paid for the hotel accommodation, but it was just about $100 including taxes.

The appearance of the hotel is very nice on the outside. The rooms are clean and simple: King Bed, TV, microwave, etc. They offer a pleasing complimentary breakfast with things like fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, muffins/danishes/doughnuts, etc.

The best part about this hotel is it is actually THE CLOSEST hotel to Disneyland. Literally, across the street from the walking entrance to the park. Just exit the hotel's parking lot, push the crosswalk button, and walk into Disneyland! (It took about 5 minutes from hotel room to the entrance line, including waiting for the signal.)

We would definately stay here again!

  • Liked — The close proximaty to Disneyland & Ca. Adventure!

Dump, Dump, Dump. Noisy, Noisy, Noisy.
If you don't like to sleep this is a great place to stay! I have never stayed in a hotel where the other guest were so inconsiderate. As for the room if you like sleeping on dingy, stained sheets then great this is the place for you. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is across the street from disneyland.
Oh and the staff at the front desk was nice.

First off my family goes to Disneyland at least once a year and sometimes 2 times. We went there on 10/20/07 for 2 days. We have stayed at the Park Vue many times before. Since they renovated the place it is an excellent place for a family to go to Disneyland and walk back during the day for a break instead of waiting for a shuttle. The staff was excellent from check in to check out. After we check in I got a call from the front desk just to make sure everything was ok. Then we received a nice fruit basket from the hotel with a bottle of wine as a thank you. When we got home I checked my e-mail and received one from Park vue thanking me once more.

We have stayed at all the hotels across the street from Disneyland and they were ok but the Park Vue gave that little extra to make everything nice. Plus we arrived at 9:30 in the morning and after the maid cleaned the room they allowed us to check in at 10:15. Sure you can hear little kids running in the morning but hey they are going to DISNEYLAND, wouldn't you get excited too.

The rooms were clean, the continental breakfast was ok (coffee, orange juice, donuts, cereal, oatmeal, toast, etc) and like everybody
says it's a 5 minute walk to Disneyland. It's just your all around basic hotel that is great to stay at. They even added a little work out room with a couple of treadmills, work out bench, and a cycle machine. And with IHOP, Denny's, McDonalds, and Tony Romas all within a five minute walk or less you save even more eating here then
in Disneyland. and to me the foods even better than Disneyland and almost half the price. As you can see we had no problem staying here and already are booking rooms for when we come down here again for Disneyland at Christmas time.

The only good thing about this hotel was location - right across the street from Disneyland. Other than that, my exerperience was lousy. The rooms are small, and the property is very noisy. Both mornings we were awakened by the obnoxious beeping sound of a large truck backing up over and over again in the driveway....at 6:30am. They charged us daily for use of the safe; they charged us for use of the wireless internet; the television got about 3 decent channels. Next time, I'm staying next door at the Best Western.

The Park Vue Inn was beyond my expections and I would like to recommend it to anyone looking for acommodation in Anaheim. We could not have been closer to Disneyland, an easy 5 minute walk and you're in Disneyland or California Adventure. The room we had was clean and very nice . We stayed on the bottom floor and only heard an occasional sound, barely worth mentioning, certainly nothing to keep us awake. We chose a 2 queen bed room with a seperate living room. It had 2 queen beds in a bedroom with a television and a double sofa bed in the living room with a plasma television. The bedroom had both ceiling fans and an air conditioner and the living area had an air conditioner also. It had a full kitchen and a second vanity area in the kitchen which made it much easier for 4 people to get ready. I think it may have been recently renovated. The rate included a nice breakfast with plenty of variety (no hot food). But the main thing that we were inpressed with were the staff. They always had a smile and were so helpful even when under pressure. The pool and the grounds were nicely kept. Didn't get to use the swimming pool, no time. I did use the laundry to wash and dry clothes and it was scrupulously clean.I would definately stay here again and can't recommend it highly enough.
