“FANTASTIC!”
Reviewed 10 February 2012

I just wanted to take the time to leave a review on here as being in the hospitality trade, people are soon to write a negative review but dont always make the effort when they have a good one!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic, my partner and family stayed for 2 weeks in the beginning of September 2011 and I have recommended the hotel and the whole holiday to so many of my friends and family.
All the staff are exetremely friendly and really seem interested in your having a good time! From reception, breakfast and bar staff to the maintenance guy my mum got stuck in the lift with and the housekeeping team.
A very well done all round!! x

Room Tip: Ask when booking for the view facing the road, you get to see the disneyland fireworks!! Also note t...

We didn't love this place. Housekeeping, as noted by other guests, was bad. The floors were never cleaned during our stay, not even in the bathroom. It seemed like housekeeping just made beds and ran out. Even though they knew we had 3 people in the room, they kept shorting us on towels. One night, we got back from Disneyland and we had zero towels - zero. I went to the front desk to complain, and someone brought us towels about 20 minutes later. No apology was offered and nothing was done to try to make things right. I guess because we booked the hotel through a third-party site at a reduced rate, they don't care if we're happy. The front desk just didn't care. I would prefer to not stay here again because of the housekeeping issues and lack of concern.

My husband, 4 yr old son, and I stayed here for 2 nights. It's an easy 10 min. walk to Disneyland/California Adventure. Loved having a refrigerator and safe in room. IHOP was right next door, as well as taco and pizza shops about a block away. Parking was convenient and the hotel allows you to stay parked until midnight the day of check out -- bonus!!
Only complaints....shower didn't seem to get hot enough for my liking, the heated pool was a bit chilly, and the A/C was pretty loud, but we would still stay here again -- great value!

We had a good experience at the Red Lion in Anaheim. We stayed during low season but I can see some problems if you stay when it is a busy time. The rooms are great but if you have a room that adjoins with another you can hear the talking next door. The breakfast was free because of the package we were able to get and the parking was free also. But if you do not get the package with free breakfast and parking you will pay $14 a day for parking and $9.99 for breakfast. The breakfast line was long but we got in pretty fast. If it was more crowded I can see where you would waste a lot of time. Pick up a cinnamon roll at Disneyland at the Jolly Holiday bakery or at the cart across from the Haunted Mansion. One more hidden charge, lots of little pennies and dollars tacked on for resort fees with the taxes that are not clear when you make your reservation. The hotels should be made to include these in their rate like the airlines are having to do now. We got a great rate of $79 but with taxes etc. it was much more. The walk to Disneyland is 15 minutes and they do not have a shuttle like some of the other closer hotels. You can pay for the Anaheim Resort transportation that stops outside the doors of this hotel.

Room Tip: There are rooms that face Disneyland so you can see the fireworks from your room when they are offer...

We had no problems during our stay at this hotel. Everyone was attentive and made us feel welcomed. The only recommendation is for softer pillows. Will definitely book again in the future.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in January 2012...booked mainly for the decent rate and proximity to Disneyland area. We booked the rate that included breakfast, but never tried it. Our friends ate there one of the mornings and said it really was not good so we didn't bother. There is an IHOP directly next door that I would suggest instead...or any of the Disney restaurants if you're headed there. The room itself was just adequate, nothing special at all. The AC was very noisy...probably my number 1 complaint. The furniture was sufficient although I thought the color pallete was kind of ugly. I did like the large windows that let in lots of natural light in the morning when we pulled the drapes open. The king bed was fairly comfortable...softer than what most hotels offer, which I like. However, the linens were not nice at all....very thin and rough. The cabinet that the TV sits on doubles as the dresser, I'm assuming....a small set of shelves on each side...no drawers. There was a closet provided which was helpful. I also liked that there was an electronic safe in the room...big enough to fit all of the normal things you would want to lock up....jewelry boxes, ipads, laptops, etc. The bathroom was rather small, but sufficient...no vent to switch on though, and the strange grid-like wall paper was peeling pretty bad in there. Definitely showing it's age. The free wi-fi was useless. We arrived after 11pm on a friday night, and were able to use it for a few minutes before going to bed and then it was down for the rest of our trip, so that was pretty annoying. One other odd thing...when checking in we wanted to go ahead and pay for our room in cash...this seemed to REALLY confuse the desk attendant, but I'm not sure why. We had no problem with leaving the required credit card on file for "incidentals" but for some reason, paying in cash really threw her for a loop...so it took a really long time to get us checked in. Then we find out, thankfully before we walked away, that she had assigned us to a hanicapped room, which we promptly requested that she change. So, make sure you check that before you head up to your room. Fortunately, this hotel is considered a Disney "Good Neighbor" hotel, so if you're there to go to the parks, the Anaheim Resort transportation stops right outside the lobby and will take you to the Disneyland area...it's also a fairly short walk or only about an $8 cab ride if you'd rather not wait for the bus. They are supposed to come about every 20 minutes, but I don't think we waited that long the couple of times we used the bus.

So, this hotel was just ok...we come out here at least once a year for Disneyland. Next time we'll try our luck at a different hotel. There are too many in the area to settle for "just ok."

My husband and I stayed here while on a combination business/pleasure trip. The hotel is located within walking distance of Disneyland and several restaurants, and within a short driving distance of additional shopping. We somehow missed out on the free breakfast others are talking about, but the microwave and refridgerator in the room were helpful. The room was updated and clean, but the heater was noisy. We also had to put a towel in front of the door to block out the whistling sound of air coming underneath. We would probably stay here again, especially if the convention is held here again.
