“Amazing VALUE for our family of 6”
Reviewed 8 January 2010

Our family (my husband & I, our 3 kids ages 2 months to 5 years, and my dad) stayed at Peacock Suites 1/3-1/6/2010. Our room was on the 3rd floor & we had no problems whatsoever with noise or pipes. We had a 2 room suite with 2 queen size beds in the first room & a living room with a pull-out couch in the second. The sound-proofing between the two rooms was much better than I would have expected. We did have to pay for valet parking, which is always a bummer, but we got the room for just $61 a night, so even paying for parking it was an awesome value. It is within walking distance of Disney, but it's a long walk -- probably 30 minutes with little ones. We opted to take the shuttle the first 2 days & then drove ourselves & parked at Disney which only cost $2 more per day & was much more convenient for us.

Other Positives: The valets were excellent, the breakfast room well-stocked, the pool seemed to be well taken care of (though we didn't use it), the beds were comfy, and the flat-screen TV was a nice suprise.

Negatives: Our key cards stopped working daily, neccesitating several trips to the lobby. As mentioned in another review, housekeeping was careless about leaving multiple doors open in the general vacinity they were cleaning. We got really sick of being offered a time share every day on voicemail & every time we had to go get a new keycard. Odd & not a big deal, but it was pretty obvious the picture frames had been painted to match the rooms -- not the neatest job.

Overall though it was a GREAT value, and a good hotel. We would stay there again.

Although our short stay was on balance reasonable, it was badly affected by a very high level of noise. Check-in was good, compulsory valet parking was fast and efficient ($8 no choice but good price for valet) and free oranges and chilled water in the lobby. Good sized suite room was well equipped clean and spacious. After enduring a very noisy night we went to the breakfast room for a relaxing breakfast. We noticed a few guests walking back to their rooms with cardboard boxes of food - we soon learnt why. The breakfast room is a ridiculously undersized space for the size of the hotel. Very cramped with insufficient tables for the number of potential guests. Very ordinary selection. 3 cereals (curiously nothing for kids) three bread choices, oranges and 'packaged' Danishes - looked a little unappetizing for me. Juice, coffee, bread - that's about it.  Good size rooms although beginning to show their age. Fridge, microwave, dining table, sofa, 2 TV's. Did I mention the noise? Maybe it was the room we had (not actually facing the Alsco Laundry but often felt like we were inside it) but it was unreasonably noisy - pity the poor staff working there. Its worth noting we even asked for a room not facing the laundry! Although I thought most aspects of this hotel were acceptable, I simply can't recommend it unless you can be absolutely sure you are on the opposite side of the building from the commercial laundry next door.

This was a favorite hotel of ours for business until this trip. Loud kids running up and down the hallways (parents use a little common sense). You could tell when people were having a shower as the pipes were very noisey! One thing, the valet was awesome this time as well as the staff at the desk. I couldn't believe my eyes to see a family in the breakfast room in their pajamas! Sorry breakfast room doesn't mean you can all wear your sleepwear and roam around in slippers. There should be a sign telling guests no pjs! While this is supposed to be a relaxing vacation, you should show some discretion for those here who don't want to see your flimsy tank tops and boxer shorts. Biggest disappointment is the guests that were taking donuts, muffins and pastries away in actual boxes. These people weren't bringing it back to the other guests in their rooms who couldn't make it too the breakfast room. There were a lot of you this time who brought boxes in there. Save some for people who are also guests who aren't cheap and will actually buy snacks at disney or at the local target and would actually like to have something before they head out for the day! Housekeeping could have been better, they left several rooms open as they walked through the corridors talking with one another. How many people could go through your room and help themselves since they certainly were not keeping an eye out for anyone. You would think that since this is a timeshare, they would be more picky on how some act in the hotel.

This was an average hotel that was quite a long ways from Disneyland. Thanks to Tripadvisor's reviews, I knew to ask for a room away from the laundry in the back. Unfortunately, I did not get a room on the top floor.

If you are one of those people who really wants to know when your neighbor is showering or flushing the toilet, then this is the hotel for you. Just wait for the sound of the 747 smashing through your walls. That is your cue.

P.S. While having to pay for parking at the hotel you're staying in is lame, the Valets were really nice and represented the company well.

P.P.S. The giant hairball I found by the headboard was not mine...I'm pretty sure.

P.P.P.S. Now is the time for the hotel to write some sappy and condescending reply.

I stayed at this property in November with my wife and two young children. What's amazing is that I got a $79 rate for a holiday week in Anaheim when comparable suite properties were well over $150!

As with previous reviews, I will say that yes it's a bummer to pay for valet parking but when space is limited, what can you do? I have stayed at several area hotels and always had trouble finding parking in their lots. And yes, the breakfast could be much better but there are options within walking distance and, of course, if you're going to DLand, you can always grab something at the park or in Downtown Disney. For the rate we paid, the parking and breakfast issues were incredibly minor inconveniences.

The room/suite was a little on the small side but the privacy we had separated from our kids was sooooo nice! A french-style door and a wall of glass and curtain separated the two sides. One suggestion - put the curtain on the side of the wall that parents would likely sleep on!

The pool was on the small side as well and outside but under cover. The gym, also small, was sufficient for our stay. The hotel is currently the first shuttle stop of three to get to DLand. This means your're the first one on so you're guaranteed a seat before the people at the other two hotels pile in. You're also the first ones off going back to the hotel!

Finally, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful at every turn. When there wasn't a luggage cart when we arrived, one of the valets ran to find one and was back within a few minutes. The car was always outside when I needed it within two minutes of asking. The housekeepers made animals from the towels in our room and always amazed the kids. In short, a great place to stay in Anaheim.

Our Disneyland Adventure- 2 adults, 5 kids
Upon arriving at the Peacock Suites we were told that we had to wait until 4pm on the dot to check in. Yes, that stunk but...we were in sunny California!! We took the few hrs between arriving and check in to grab some lunch stuff at a local Target for bringing into the parks. Between that and getting our lay of the land it was time to check in. Unfortunately, the room we were given had other people’s belongings in it. So they moved us to a corner room with an additional bed. The room slept all 7 of us very comfortably. The room was spotless and we had no complaints there. They even offered a BBQ the night we arrived. Being from the east coast, this served us well since we were all so jet lagged. The breakfast was by far not the best we have ever had, but not the worst either. It served it’s purpose and we filled up on toast, cereal, muffins and doughnuts. Even took some extras for later in the day snacks :-) All in all, the hotel was great for the week. Would we stay here again, SURE! the cost was great and enabled us to being our 5 kids to see the Disney on the other side of the country. We had a wonderful week and will definately go back in the future!
