“Okay but not great so will try elsewhere next time”
Reviewed 5 April 2011

For some reason I expected a bit more of an upscale feel to the hotel. I was definitely underwhelmed when we arrived. The hotel is dated but very clean. I have no complaints about the service or the cleanliness. Rooms, linens, and towels were cleaned promptly and well. The rooms were spotless in all areas. I guess it depends on what amenities and feel you expect from a hotel as a traveler. I found the towels to be small and the washing clothes and towels to be very rough. Not plush at all, they were like wal-mart towels. With that being said it is only a 3 star hotel and we did get a good price but I wouldn't say a bargain so I'd expect nice towels and upgraded interior. The pool area was underwhelming and the buffet breakfast gets a thumbs down from me. The food was edible but underwhelming and juices are either watered down or powdered. The cranberry juice I had was dark pink instead of red and tasted horrible.

Thank you for your comment on Trip Advisor. The owner is well aware that our hotel needs to be upgraded in various areas to better fit all of our travelers. Right now we are scheduled to renovate the following: entire pool at the end of this month, and the hotel lobby this coming summer. As for our room amenities, our Executive Housekeeper had already ordered brand new towels for the entire hotel. We are currently still waiting for them to arrive.

On behalf of the hotel staff, I apologize that our hotel didn't live up to your hotel expectations during your recent trip. Here at the Ramada Plaza, we do value all comments/suggestions and would greatly appreciate any input you may have. Whether it is our hotel or not, we still hope that you would still consider staying at any of Wyndham Property during your next stay in Anaheim.

We enjoyed this hotel, it was very nice- clean, and quiet. The staff was very friendly.

Plenty of room for my spouse and I and 3 children under 10; we had the room with 2 queens and a sofa bed.

My wife and I slept reasonably well; for some reason at most hotels we wake up with sore backs in the morning; but this was not an issue at this hotel.

The only negative about the hotel was the free buffet breakfast; it was in the Indian restaurant on the first floor; it attempted to have an American style breakfast with eggs, pancakes, and sausage, etc-- but the food was not that great; we ended up skipping the free breakfast on the 2nd day.

The website says that there is a shuttle but they don't mention that it is an anaheiem resort transportation bus which is like public transit. (Nice on the way there but it takes 25 min to get back that didn't include 20 min+ wait time)because the ramada is the last stop. Also the front desk did not give me any of this info or offer to sell us shuttle passes for cheaper. We spent 25$ the first day as opposed to the 9$ it would of cost if the front desk let me know when I asked how to buy tickets her reply was the bus...when I told the manager she offered no explanation or compensation-I hate to say it but she played dumb.

Dear Valued Guest:
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments on Trip Advisor regarding your stay with us at the Ramada Plaza Anaheim. We appreciate your comments and use them as a way to improve so that we may provide a service that exceeds guest expectations. We are sorry that we failed to do so during your stay with us. We understand that this review is from 2011 but would still like to take the time to respond. We apologize if our staff was not clear on the shuttle service to Disneyland Resort. The Ramada Plaza Anaheim does not personally offer a shuttle service. However, there is the ART bus that picks up in front of the hotel and will bring you to and from Disneyland Resort. There are five hotel stops on our route. Yes, we are the last on the route which means you would be first to be dropped off at Disneyland Resort, but the last to be dropped back to the hotel. It takes approximately 20 minutes on the ART bus. The present price for a one day all day pass is $5.00 for an adult and $2.00 for children ages 3-9 if purchased at the front desk..Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your stay but hope that you might consider giving us another chance the next time you are travelling in the Anaheim Resort area.
Sincerely,

Management

Stayed here for a weekend to visit Disneyland. I took a gamble on it because the price I locked in was too good to pass up & included a free breakfast buffet as well.

The desk staff was very friendly, the hotel & my room was very clean. I enjoyed the hotel because it is approximately 3 blocks from Disneyland or about a 15 minute walk. It is also on Katella which is a little less noisy than Harbor blvd that Disneyland resort resides on.

I would definitely stay here again in the future for easy access to Disneyland!

This was our company's second time staying at the hotel, with a nearby convention being the draw. Last year's experience was quite good, but the hotel has gone downhill since. We will not stay at the hotel again.

Everything at the hotel is mediocre. This can be fine if that's all you are expecting, but it offers little more.

Worth mentioning is that the internet was extremely slow and unreliable for our entire visit. We mentioned the problem to the front desk each and every day and were assured that the problem would be fixed - but each day passed and we were greeted with the same questions by a new front desk agent (i.e. "did you try to restart your computer") Every one of our rooms was having problems with the internet - so it is clearly a problem of the hotel's. We were without any reliable internet for the 4 nights of our stay, which is unacceptable on business travel.

It is definitely a great place to stay and is walking distance from Disneyland.
Spent 5 nights at first and decided not to change hotel and extended for another 3 nights in the same hotel after our great experiences with the stay. Our room was spacious. No problem with the walls or noise.
Breakfast was not fantastic, especially after many days with the same foods, i.e. toast, scramble eggs, bacons, etc. Staff in the restaurant (definitely shorthanded) is not as friendly as the hotel staff. But it is really not a bother since it is supposed to be buffet (which mean self-service).

How is it possible we have overlooked this hotel after staying at numerous area hotels. This Ramada Plaza (not to be confused with Ramada Maingate) had everything on our list including a great price booked directly through the hotel website.

From the lobby to the spacious, clean room with high ceilings complete with crown moldings and higher end bed linens and the warm clean pool with nice towels we were greeted with everything looking attractive. On our list is also free parking and a close walk to the parks. The really special thing that sets this hotel apart is the wonderful, complete breakfast with a nice place to sit and enjoy. The front desk was helpful and even brought up glass wine glasses per my request as the room had only thin disposable cups. What a deal!We will not stay anywhere else in the future; happy are we!

We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay during your recent trip to Anaheim, California. Most individuals due tend to overlook our hotel, for they find it is toooo far from the Disneyland Park entrance. But as you can see, we are clearly not that far at all. Our location is fairly close to the Anaheim Convention center, as well as the Anaheim Gardenwalk. Were you able to visit the Anaheim Gardenwalk? There is always something new and exciting going on in Anaheim such as the new "Battle of the Dance" dinner show. We hope that you visit us again on your next trip down in Anaheim California. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call the hotel directly for your next reservation.

If you have any additional comments or suggestions, please feel free to let us know.
