We have been to D-L many times and stayed at various places, including the Grand Californian, but this was the first time we stayed at the D-L Hotel. The hotel was spotless, the grounds immaculate, the staff were accommodating and friendly, the pool and waterslides were clean and safe. We had a king room, not huge, but very quiet even as more guests arrived later in the week. Good balance of restaurants, from an early morning coffee shop where you can purchase light breakfast fare, to their signature steakhouse for fine evening dining. There is no other place we want to stay anymore!

Hotel is clean and nice , comfortable. We did not bring our toothbrushes and slippers as they are normally provided by the hotel . To our surprise and at this pricey room rate, we were told by housekeeping that they did not have these for guests!!

There were nine of us that stayed here. We had two connecting rooms and since they weren't able to get us a pool view they gave us some front of the line passes for a few rides. Big plus. Rooms were very clean and roomy. The kids loved the headboards that lit up and played Disney music. Pools were very nice and clean too. They provide life jackets for the little a ones if you need them. Staff was extremely friendly. You can find some of the characters walking around the lobby which my kids loved! It's about a 10 minute walk to the front gates of Disney. We will definitely be staying here the next time we come to Disneyland.

This is a very comfortable hotel with spacious and well appointed rooms - not at the higher-end luxury level but certainly consistent with the better chain hotels. Entering Disneyland from the hotel complexes is very easy, either through the monorail (located very close to this hotel) or through the main gates (essential if using the "extra magic hour" admission). Driving into the hotel from Interstate 5 was very smooth, and the bellman service and valet parking made the arrival a breeze. I recommend this hotel for a visit to Disneyland with kids - the central pool area between the towers is an added attraction after a hot day at the park.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing room in the "Fantasy" tower. This is the one closest to the entrance...

Our stay at the Disneyland Hotel was for five nights. We had a room in the Frontier building, which was a long walk to the main building, but a very nice standard room. It did not have a great view, but we were not in the room much. Great pool, good restaurants and great location to go to the parks. Security was top notch and we felt very safe there. It has been remodeled and updated well. Our head board was cool as it lit up and had a Disneyland scene in it!
I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The best rooms are in the Adventure Building.

Stayed at the Disneyland Hotel on our recent visit to Southern California. Stayed here last time about 8 years ago and was pleasantly surprised all all that has been done to the resort to modernize and refresh this classic Disney property.

We had a fantastic room, on the 11th floor, in the Frontier Tower. Some people prefer the other towers, but we loved the Frontier Tower. The scale model of Big Thunder Mountain in the lobby was really cool to look at. It was pretty close to the Monorail Pool slides, and both Tangeroa Terrace and Trader Sams. The Frontier tower also had a nice smaller water feature and geyser in front of the hotel as a nod to Nature's Wonderland at Disneyland, and also I am guessing in a smaller way to the classic waterfalls that used to be in front of the tower but were removed during the most resort "re-imagining." We also loved that there is a smaller parking lot next to Frontier, which if you're lucky, you can find a spot and park in and you're very close to the elevator bank. Our room was in the center of the tower, on the 11th floor and was huge. We had a larger entry way in our room with a desk setup. Also the day bed was a bonus. We stayed in the Fantasy (ex-Magic) tower previously and the room in the Frontier tower was much larger. Also we hit the jack pot, due to the high floor to have a room with a view of not only the pool, but also parts of Disneyland and Downtown Disney. We also had a view into the Wedding/Rose garden and my wife loved watching no less than 3 weddings occur during our stay.

The hotel is great. While I do miss some of the older resort features this location used to have back many years ago, Disney has done a nice job keeping the resort modern and current. The decor is very Disney from the light up headboards with music to the hidden mickey's in the carpet, duvet and even the shower tiles. My only wish for the remodel was if Disney could have done the blue windows theme and kept the Juliet style balconies. I did miss not being able to open the sliding doors and listen to the sounds of the resort.

Walking to the resort is not too far from Disneyland and California Adventure. Maybe 10-15 minutes. We did take advantage of the monorail which is only a short walk from any of the three towers. We used it coming home a couple of nights and going in at least one. Very convenient, and at least for us, shorter lines getting the bags checked and through the turnstyles. The hotel has a few restaurants, we only tried Tangeroa Terrace and it was good. It's close to a number of other dining spots in Downtown Disney as well as options in Paradise Pier Hotel and Grand California as well.

The only downsides are, this place is really rather expensive. However, if you want the total Disney package, this is the place. Our Premium/Deluxe room in high season was probably about 500.00 a night. Luckily we had used Disney Vacation Club points to stay here, and it was worth it to me. The hotel is incredible though, so if it's in your budget, it is a very nice place to stay and has a lot of magical touches. In fact the landscaping and Tangeroa Terrace/Trader Sam's are kind of reminded me of the Polynesian Resort a little.

Everyone in our party loved the hotel. Our only disappointment was our check in experience. It wasn't terrible, just not magical (in Disney speak.) The cast member was very matter of fact, didn't really great us in the way I am accustomed to at other Disney resorts. We had mentioned it was one person's first visit in our party and nothing, no comment, no warm Disney welcome, no first visit button, nothing. Just very business like. But that was it, everything else was good. Housekeeping was good and efficient, restocking things we needed. Everyone in the restaurants and shops were nice, etc.

We'd definitely stay here again if we have an option and can swing the cost. We stayed at the Sheraton Park Anaheim also on this visit and that was actually a pretty nice alternative to Disneyland Hotel. It has a very resort like feel, and was about 1/4 the cost. We'd go back there too if the budget prevails, but all of us in our party just liked the Disneyland Hotel more, and were glad we went to the Disneyland Hotel 2nd and not first if that makes sense. A little bit of trivia, the man who owned the Disneyland Hotel before Disney purchased it in the late 80s, also used to own the hotel which is now called Sheraton Park Anaheim.

So, all in all, this is a great Disney Hotel, and if it's in your vacation budget to stay here, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Room Tip: Frontier tower is not as far away from the action as people may think and it seemed to have larger r...

I highly recommend staying at a Disney Resort property when visiting Disneyland, and the Disneyland Hotel is fabulous. The room is magical with hidden surprises, the pool is great fun, and being close to the park is priceless. Yes, Disney knows how to make your visit magical!
