“Best! EVER EVER EVER! Loved our stay - better than expected”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

We decided to have a stay-cation this year and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. From start to finish, it totally exceeded our expectations. For starters the pool and slides, were the reason we decided to stay at this hotel over the other two Disney hotels and they didn't disappoint AT ALL. I did have reservations that the price for the hotel was a bit high -- but after staying there, I would go back in a heartbeat and gladly recommend to anyone else who is on the fence that every detail is taken care of and totally worth it!

We are annual passholders so we knew we'd spend some time in the parks, but the magical hour was really nice. Then the movies in the grass, really was a nice activity and we took advantage of 2 of the movies. The pina colada/raspberry blendy drink at the pool (non-alcoholic) was scrumptions! Ok, I'm all over the place here.... so let me wrap up:

The staff was incredible - life guards, housekeeping (we totally tipped them!), front desk, etc. I particularly loved how the life guards were so kind and helping my 3 year old to wait in line for the slides. They helped ensure she was following the rules and did it in such a great way -- they were like the aunt who spoils your kids but still keeps them safe!

We ended up eating all our meals (except one at the pool which was yummy) at either the parks or Downtown Disney and I totally regret eating at Downtown Disney. Every meal we had there was disappointing. We figured that the price at the hotel for dinner was a bit pricey, but we probably should have just done it. The food at the parks was great.

All in all, this staycation rivals that of our pre-children vacations aboard cruise ships and the Caribbean. It was THAT great!

Room Tip: The rooms towards the top of the hotel and overlooking the pool are nice. The big windows, however...

When I first started planning my visit to Disneyland Resort, I was determined to stay at a Disney Hotel. I ultimately chose Disneyland Hotel as it had recently been renovated and was cheaper than Grand California Hotel and also of a higher standard than Paradise Pier Hotel.

I could find no fault with the rooms or hotel as a whole. Rooms cleaned to a high standard everyday, tower lobbies cleaned regularly. The gardens and swimming pool area where all well kept. No swimming during my stay, to cold for me, didn't stop others from swimming though.

The Tangaroa Terrace is located near the pool and has nice freshly made food. They have an excellent range of burgers.

Staff were all friendly and did their best to have us checked into our room quickly, have our car retrieved or answer any questions we may have.

Probably the best part of stay at a Disney Hotel was the merchandise delivery service. Select stores in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure offer a merchandise delivery service, for free!!. No need to carry bags or rent a locker. Just find a select store and they will itemise your purchases, give you a copy of the receipt and your shopping can be picked up at the Bell Service the next morning. Considering my friend and I purchases so much Disney merchandise, this service came in handy.

The hotel is in walking distance of the parks, just a short walk through Downtown Disney, even quicker if you take the monorail.

Loved my Disney stay. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The lobby is very nice and welcoming for check in. We requested a premium room with a downtown disney view. That was not possible at the time but they came with a great offer for a club level upgrade which it was one of the best decisions we ever made. Club level included breakfast and snacks, drinks and light meals throughout the day and complimentary wine at the evening.
The rooms are good size, very clean (excellent work from housekeeping) and the subtle Mickey mouse theme throughout the room and hotel is a nice touch for me.
I dont rate this hotel a 5 because the pool area was impossible - we didn't managed to get 1 sun lounger the 3 times we went down to the pool, although being a big pool it felt overcrowded. And after checking out we left our luggage for a couple of hours while we went to downtown. We arrived earlier to make sure we could catch the shuttle bus on time for the airport but at that time the lounge didn't feel that welcoming and we were approached many times asking if we were checking in.
We had a great time and we'll def book this hotel again if back to Disneyland Anaheim.

Was here for a business conference and expected it to be overrun with kids (not that there is anything wrong with that...it's Disney after all). It was very in control and not as crazy as the hotels on the properties in Orlando. Room was very big. Overall the property is really nice. Good restaurant. Nice pool area and obviously walkable into the park. If you can stay here I highly recommend it even if it costs a little more. The convenience is well worth it. At least to me. We have been to D-L many times and stayed at various places, including the Grand Californian, but this was the first time we stayed at the D-L Hotel. The hotel was spotless, the grounds immaculate, the staff were accommodating and friendly, the pool and waterslides were clean and safe. We had a king room, not huge, but very quiet even as more guests arrived later in the week. Good balance of restaurants, from an early morning coffee shop where you can purchase light breakfast fare, to their signature steakhouse for fine evening dining. There is no other place we want to stay anymore!

Hotel is clean and nice , comfortable. We did not bring our toothbrushes and slippers as they are normally provided by the hotel . To our surprise and at this pricey room rate, we were told by housekeeping that they did not have these for guests!!

There were nine of us that stayed here. We had two connecting rooms and since they weren't able to get us a pool view they gave us some front of the line passes for a few rides. Big plus. Rooms were very clean and roomy. The kids loved the headboards that lit up and played Disney music. Pools were very nice and clean too. They provide life jackets for the little a ones if you need them. Staff was extremely friendly. You can find some of the characters walking around the lobby which my kids loved! It's about a 10 minute walk to the front gates of Disney. We will definitely be staying here the next time we come to Disneyland.
