What a wonderful place! It is an historic farm and former winery. The house itself is beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable, we had the best sleep. A great place for a friends or family retreat, this was our yearly girls getaway and it was the best we have had in a long time. Easy access to all that the Santa Cruz area has to offer. Food was fabulous. Jen and Derek make you feel right at home.

Room tip: Rooms up stairs are great for a romantic getaway.

My husband and I spent two nights here for our 10 year anniversary. The room as gorgeous - spacious, with a jaw droppingly beautiful bathtub, and a little couch/sitting area off to one side of the room. Lovely tiled bathroom. Quiet, peaceful and lovely. The property is a joy to meander and roam. There are only two things keeping this from being perfect - 1. It is really far away from any store or anything like that, so having access (for a fee even) to wine, snacks, etc in the evening would be nice option. It's possible they have those in the evening, and we missed it, but I don't think they do. 2. The breakfasts were amazing - the cook is really talented and creative. However, there is only one choice available, and I found them to be delicious, but almost too rich or heavy. For example, one day, there was pork belly and waffles or pancakes and something else. I sometimes just like yogurt or oatmeal for breakfast, so if they just added a simple breakfast bar or options for lighter eaters, it would make this place perfect, in my eyes. Overall though, this place is heaven on earth. We will be back.

Thank you for your wonderful review and suggestions! We are working on adding some snack options at time of booking so guests can plan ahead more easily. As for breakfast, please just let us know your preference at the time of booking or when you check in and we are happy to accommodate requests for something light. We always have fruit, yogurt, granola available and most breakfast options are easily modified for all appetites and/or dietary restrictions.

We have stayed at hundreds of inns and bed and breakfast lodgings. Jen and Derek have developed and designed Sand Rock Farm with an exquisite and understated elegance that eclipses all others. They calmly create a home-like environment for their lucky guests. The meals are incredibly healthy and memorable. Check it out........

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Sand Rock Farm B&B in September 2015. Jen and Derrick are wonderful hosts. It is an oasis in the forest and is so close to the ocean and all the sights of the Central Coast. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We have been to many B&Bs over the years and we agreed that these were two of the best breakfasts we ever had. Staying here was a wonderful experience and hope to stay here again.
