“Great!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this weekend. The staff were extremely friendly. Our room was spotless, nicely updates and very quiet. We traveled with a dog and found it very easy. Room includes a Keurig, robes and more. Great wine bar next door! Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for one night, wish we had been able to stay longer. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area attractions. Front desk was very helpful. The room was fantastic very quiet and private. The jets in the tub were so relaxing. The hotel is extremely clean and well kept. We will revisit soon. Its a new local favorite for us.

By far the luxury bargain of the area, this hotel is gorgeous, luxurious, beautifully appointed and so comfortable. The relatively inexpensive rates belie how lovely it is. The beds are so comfortable you don't want to rise. The rooms are very spacious as are the baths. This was our 4th stay and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when we're in the area. Our Highest recommendation.

Room Tip: Atascadero is such a quiet town, I think all the rooms are quiet.

the title of my review says it all. i stayed here for one night after wine tasting in paso robles. the room was spacious and cozy and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel bed i've ever slept in.

the bathroom was also a gem with a jetted tub and separate shower.

the lobby was also extremely cozy and i sat down there to read in the morning with a coffee from the cafe next door.

This historic hotel is our first choice on our way to and from California deserts. The rooms are large with high ceilings. The beds are great. While the restaurant has closed, there are good places to eat and taste wine within walking distance. The area has a safe small town feel. Don't miss the vintage photographs or the Carlton Bakery. We plan to stay again when we head south next time.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms are nice.

My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at The Carlton. This property is beautifully restored. You are only 15 mins from wine tasting in Paso Robles, 30 mins from Pismo Beach area and walking distance to several places to eat or have a glass of wine or listen to music. The rooms are large, high end linens and toiletries. We chose a King patio view because it has French doors that lead to a nice patio great for morning coffee or afternoon tea. The staff was very helpful and friendly from check in to check out....one warning WATCH THE ELEVATOR the sensor is at the bottom of the door, my husband was holding the door at the side when I was entering. As I got 1/2 way inn the metal door "slammed" into my shoulder. Other than this which I suggested to the owner be fixed, it is a great hotel

I booked two rooms at this hotel for family members over Christmas because we had too many people to stay in my house. My family had stayed there before and found the rooms comfortable, quiet and reasonably priced. After the first night my family reported the rooms were adequate but they did not receive maid service. When the staff was asked about this they reported that a "do not disturb" sign must have been on the door. When my family explained that they absolutely did not hang that sign the staff seemed to shrug it off as "not my problem." I am writing this review to give people a heads up about the lack of customer service at this property.
