For my purposes on this September 2013 visit, which was 3 days of work in the Templeton area, this Motel 6 was perfect, including price point. Very convenient on/off location to the 101, adequate provisions and space (not too small) for the room. Bathroom was in good condition, towels not as flimsy as some like motels would have. As for the other guests, there were a variety to me, various small groups, from families to friends, to other business or recreation road travelers. There can be some noise from the exterior corridor, but for me it was fine, there was no one "out there" being problematic or sustaining the noise: they were just going about their business moving through the corridor, being friendly amongst themselves with conversation. Also, when I checked in, I asked that in particular my non smoking room not have any chance of having smoke residue, from an adjoining room; so the front desk clerk assigned me a room adjoined to hers. I would stay there again.

A bit overpriced and the TV was out. It was very quiet despite being close to the freeway but the beds had a bit of body odor still. It was moderately clean. There seemed to be some long-term tenants but they caused no problems.

The rooms were clean but tiny, it felt like staying at a hostel or a college dorm. There were a lot of very young travelers and other very young student like people staying here, didn't seem that anyone over 25 would fit in here but that was just an observation on the night I stayed and the staff were very young also but were very nice and friendly. The place needs to be updated but I didn't feel that I was going to contract any kind of disease tho. It was quiet at night with intermittent yelling outside, I get the feeling that it does get noisy and could be a party place. It was good for the value and good if your just traveling through or don't want to pay 3X the price in Paso Robles for far less comfort and cleanliness.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that over looks the grassy area and not the parking lot at the front.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights and the customer service was horrible...The front desk clerk was very rude and very unprofessional....Her name was Precilla....Also the office area smelled of marijuana and also over by managers apt...The room we stayed in was connected to office and not only did office smell but our room also you could smell it coming thru vents....The girls at desk were watching movies on laptop with earphones in and painting nails and gossiping about other employees during our check in just very unprofessiinal...And also the main manger was drinking alcohol and going back and forth from her apt to office...What kind of employer allows there employees to drink while on duty....Needless to say we will never stay here again....

If all you need is a place to sleep and clean up for your adventures, this will work for you. This is my 2nd stay here. I always bring my own coffee pot and cooler, as there is no coffee pot in room or refrigerator. The price is very affordable: $54 a night with senior discount. They also accept pets and have a good pool. It's a 2 story building on corner of Santa Rosa Street and El Camino Real, the main drag in Atascadero. Easy on and off the highway. There's coffee in the office in the morning, if you want. Restaurants aren't very far away on ECR. Bathroom and room itself was clean. The towels are small-ish and thin so if you want more, bring your own. If you want internet, it's $3 for 24 hours. Office staff were courteous and efficient. I recommend this motel if all you want is basics and a good price (especially on the Central Coast).

Room Tip: If you want quieter, ask for a room away from ECR and on the Santa Rosa side (away from the pool).
