This historical building is worth a visit. It is beautifully sited on a knoll within walking distance of Downtown. Beautifully preserved. Small museum inside as well.

Have you ever seen huge chunks of real gold? No. Well, you can see it here. There is also a full room displace of the old sheriff's office and lots of local tribal history on display.

Very ornate and in fantastic shape for being 100+ years old. This is working courthouse so walk thru the metal detector and go to the Placer County museum on the ground floor (extremely well done and worth a visit) donations are a nice thing to do

Stopped on a lark, the museum there is exceptional and very informative. We learned much about Placer county and the history of the area.

Its size, splendor, and site evoke a sense of the wealth of this area from gold rush times through present day. Take a few moments to walk around it. Don't worry if it is closed. Peek in the windows. As an active courthouse some of the interior charms have been compromised. It is adjacent to Old Town, also worth seeing.
