We stayed here in late June 2011. The hotel was just lovely. We had a balcony with a fabulous view overlooking the harbor. The walk from the ferry to the hotel is five minutes, making this hotel centrally located and just right off the main drag.

The service was fantastic. We checked in early and our room was already available. They also let us store our luggage in the cloak room on our final day after check out.

The rooftop balcony offers superb views of Avalon and the Pacific Ocean. It's the perfect place to end your day with a glass of wine (note there isn't a bar so you supply your own wine. There's a Vons literally two seconds down the road).

This unique 'pink' hotel is very quaint and we'd definitely stay here again.

First of all, we arrived well before checkin at around 11 AM. The guy at the desk, Jacob, whisked us through checkin and told us that early checkin would be no problem. Next I casually asked him if a room upgrade was possible, and he gave us a fifth floor room with a balcony and view at no extra charge. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, and the rooftop patio with a breathtaking view of the Catalina Harbor. Our friends who were traveling with us stayed at another hotel and paid considerably more for their room, and they did not have an elevator, a rooftop patio, or as nice a view. I would highly recommend the Hotel St. Lauren to everyone traveling to Catalina.

Room Tip: Ask!

i thought the hotel was pretty cute. every corner is PINK haha! the staff was nice and helpful. we got the room with the ocean view balcony and LOVED it! the view from there was really beautiful; you can see the whole town from there. they also have the 6th floor patio which was nice also. although i was expecting it to be much bigger and also a pool. the hotel were pretty close together with restaurants and shopping stores. we actually just walk the whole town! its not that far to each other. the room was small but thats okay since we are out all the time. its good for the price! i will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives!

Room Tip: always do a research and book your hotel early!

I thought here would be issues when I read the reviews saying hat the staff was rude, but I found no such issues. Overpriced, but satisfactory. I did wait until last minute to make reservations for memorial day weekend so I was not expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised. There is a patio on he sixth floor with. Great view and a place to lay out. Rooms are normal, but walls are thin.
