We are people who see the glass as half full. We love Victorian style. We love beautiful views. We appreciate sincere kindness in hotel staff.

We need a comfortable bed. We need quiet sleeping environment and we absolutely need good coffee!

This striking pink Victorian hotel is beautiful from the outside, sitting atop Avalon with a fantastic view from the 6th floor balcony.

We requested a king bed room and were first given room 101 just off the lobby at street level. Avoid this room at all cost! Noise from both the lobby and the street are not conducive to serenity. We immediately asked to be moved and the staff was very pleasant and moved us to the second floor room 203. A nicer room, but next to the hotel office and still a bit noisy because of that.

Overall, staff was friendly and accommodated our request to change rooms and a late check out.

This place could easily be a 4-star hotel with an investment in new windows and higher grade of furniture in the rooms; a bit of interior paint to hide past water leaks; and some premium coffee!

I booked this based on several on-line recommendations, and I think I did well. I stayed two nights (Thurs. & Friday) in October for my birthday in room 308. It is small, but adequate for my needs (solo). No view, but a decent bathroom, large closet, small desk and chair and a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Cable TV and free WiFi. I enjoyed a drink and snack on the 6th floor rooftop terrace both afternoons and enjoyed the view. Free coffee in the lobby in the AM. Von's grocery store within a block to pick up food or drinks. A short walk to restaurants and other sights. Rooms are not very soundproof, but fortunately this was not much of a problem during the night. Free luggage storage was nice as I had an afternoon post-check-out boat home.

The St Lauren Hotel located slightly up the hill and away from Avalon 's main St provided the perfect setting for a quick birthday get away. We appreciated the quiet clean accomodations and the friendly courteous service which we recieved.

I made a reservation and cancelled it a couple days later, all three weeks before my visit. At $25 the hotel was well compensated for that 10 minutes of customer service on their part. On the hotels behalf, their cancellation fee is published in their online documentation. That just seemed a bit steep so I won't consider staying there in the future.

Love the Hotel St. Lauren. Friendly Staff. The GM, Jacob Vanderwiel is amazing!! Complimentary Coffee in the AM. Awesome View from the sixth floor balcony. My room was a great size. My one year old was able to run back and forth and play nicely as she has too much energy. The hotel sits on a small hill and is walking distance from everything. We took a cab to the property from the boat dock. Not needed at all. A total waste of $11.00 because its such a short walk. Overall, a great experience. Thanks everyone at the Hotel St. Lauren for a memorable Anniversary getaway!

After spending nearly $500 for two nights, we had a tiny room on the forth floor. The hallway stunk!! Wife could not get over the stink- so much for romance. I will say the bed was comfortable enough.

This hotel just needs to be freshened up or reduce their prices. It was very average in every way. Granted, the rooms were clean, it was quiet, but it isn't somewhere you feel like lounging for an hour in bed in the morning. It's a "get up and get out" hotel. A bit dreary.
The pillows were pancake thin, the furniture is from 1980, and the view is the neighbor's window. On the positive side, it does have ice on the first floor! There was coffee in the morning!
