We stayed only 2 nights. There was a King bed with a flat screen TV. We will come back again.
Close to everything including the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Ice machine just down the hall.

Juan at the front desk was absolutely the best! We arrived around 10am and he both stored our bags and offered to call us as soon as the room was ready. We got our room early and while it is small it was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The showers are very tiny and I feel someone who was overweight might find them very tight. It was a little noisey at night but I am a light sleeper and was only woken up once. Overall I had a wonderful experience and will be sure to stay here next time I am on the island. Thank you for a great stay!

Room Tip: The rooms are very small, we did not have much of a view, I would perhaps ask for a corner room.

We stayed one night at this hotel for a romantic birthday getaway. The room was small, but clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything worked fine except that the first hair dryer my wife got only worked for two seconds, then shut off. A new and satisfactory dryer was quickly provided. Staff was very friendly and efficient, held our bags prior to check-in time, helped get a heavier bag upstairs (no elevator) and our luggage delivered to the dock for departure. The room was quiet.

We arrived to Catalina around 10:30am. Our checkin time wasn't until 3pm, but they were very accomodating on letting us keep our baggage there. Then they offered to call us when the room was ready, which is was at about 2pm!

Conveniently located. After we dropped off our luggage, we went right next door to a little chinese restaurant for lunch. Amazing food and very friendly service as well.

Probably the only little thing to bicker about was the climb up the stairs. No elevator. But hey, it's an old historic hotel! The rooms were very clean and had a lot of updated amenities. On the third floor we opened the windows and let the sea breeze flow in. Very relaxing.

Upon checkout at 4:30pm, the bellman offered to have our luggage taken to the ferry terminal, at no charge! This was the icing on the cake. I would definitely come back and would recommend Hotel Atwater to anyone considering a trip to Catalina Island.

We just stayed at the Atwater and had a wonderful experience. The staff is cordial and very responsive. The location is great, you can get anywhere you need to go on foot just steps away. I would have given the hotel 5 stars, but the bath towels were sparse and scratchy and also the showers were lukewarm. I fhtey can fix those two things, we will be back for sure.

We made a last minute reservation, unaware of a pending St. Patrick's Day holiday...and ended up at this hotel......I was pleasantly surprised with service, comfort, ease to downtown and tours, and that we were offered a better room for the price of the King Bed (no view and very small bath)...to ending up with a Queen Bed with view and bigger bath! I wasn't really going to choose this hotel to begin with, but was pleasantly surprised with what we got in the long run. Definitely a nice place!

Room Tip: I would recommend calling for reservation as the King Room we ordered online would have been much le...

I've stayed at four different hotels for marathon weekend and this is my favorite. It is centrally located, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the pricing is very reasonable. The rooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floor so you will have to climb, but they offer help with the luggage. There were 3 of us and we got room 320 with 2 queens, and the beds were uncommonly comfy. The rooms are simple but clean and well maintained. Our particular room was quiet. The bathroom was spotless and there was even a tub for post-run soaking, bonus! There is no coffeemaker or fridge in the room but they have coffee out in the a.m. (starting at 4 a.m. on race day) and ice machines on every floor. During the day they have iced water out for their guests, a nice touch, esp since this past weekend was a record breaker (heat). They gave us a one hour late checkout and cheerfully checked our baggage post-checkout til it was time to catch the boat.
Our room had a fan and an individual A/C unit and with temps reaching 80 the room cooled down quickly and quietly.
We are definitely planning on staying here again our next trip to Catalina.
