We had the opportunity to experience touring Catalina Island on a 1952 vintage bus. Although it was a bit dicey at the beginning of the tour going up the steep inclines, narrow and winding roads, the 3 hour tour was fun tand he sights were breathtaking. Our guide/driver, Freddie, was constantly talking for the entire tour with most of the conversation being puns and one-liners. We stopped and saw bald eagles, bison, and the airport at the top of the summit was a single building with an airstrip. This is where we stopped for a quick snack and bathroom break. This tour is long, but interesting. We think it was the best way to see all the sights on the island.
Freddie was very knowledgeable about the island's history and he was quite entertaining.
