We stayed at Mt. Ada last week for 4 nights... we have stayed at many B&B's in the U.S. and Europe... but this is the only one we go back to again and again. This home/mansion was owned by the Wrigley's (as in gum) and reflects an era long past... the architecture is beautiful and the home is spacious. The food is also worth the trip... you will not be able to stick to your diet here with all the delicious temptations! The rooms include breakfast, lunch and a terrific happy hour. Every room has a view and all are well appointed (we've stayed in all 6 of them) and there is a wrap around patio with stunning views to sit and relax. Our favorite rooms are #1 & #5 but all are lovely.

But what makes this place so special to us are the people that take such good care of us... they make you feel like you are visiting your favorite relative and they are determined to make you feel at home... and they do. So many thanks to the "Honorable" Michael, Marlene, Suzy and Martha and the rest of the staff for always making our visits memorable, relaxing and just plain wonderful!

We are already looking forward to our trip next year!!!

Room Tip: The rooms are all good... some rooms have fireplaces, some have private porches and one has its own sitting room. It would just depend on your price point so I would recommend going on-line to select your room. There are only 6 rooms so make your reservation as early as you can because you may not get the date you want if you wait too long. And as to the price of the rooms, keep in mind that it includes your breakfast, lunch and happy hour. Goodies are provided all day & night. Beer, wine, champagne are available all day. There is a Sundae bar, popcorn and chips for snacking and then there are the cookies, baked fresh daily... yummy! And each room comes with its own golf cart... so at the end of the day the price of the rooms are pretty reasonable. And when you go... please say hello to the inn keepers and staff for us... they are the reason we return every year. Enjoy!!!

Our annual (anniversary) visit at the Inn On Mt. Ada is the splendid experience of the year ... being treated as Wrigleys ... attended by "friends" ... surrounded by gracious old-world luxury ... time filled with one benefit after another ... left alone to "live" in "our" home. Though the people, the accommodations, the food services, the grounds and the surrounding island are "to die for", my lady finds no need to leave the suite ... preferring to soak it all in with the magnificent, ever-changing views. We can and do live and vacation anywhere and everywhere we please, but the Inn is the gem of pleasureful get-away experiences. (Sharon & Steve)

Room Tip: Windsor Suite offers views in two directions ... the bay and the ocean.

I have always dreamed of seeing the Wrigley Mansion. When I arrived on Catalina a few weeks ago, I found out that if you weren't a guest there, you could still go for lunch. It was just two of us and cost us $75+ before tip! I would have had no problem with that if it were a five-star lunch, BUT...what came to our table was a lame, small iceberg lettuce salad--the type you would get at a banquet. The menu didn't set the world on fire, so I was having a difficult time choosing what to order. I settled on the grilled vegetable panini. It was far from the description. It was one piece of (not two pieces as a "sandwich/panini" sould be) white bread with a FEW greasy, chunky vegetables plunked on top with one paper-thin slice of cheese. I felt totally ripped-off and very disappointed by my experience there.

We made our annual visit to the Inn on Mt. Ada. Michael was there to pick us up, he's like the Brother I never had, what fun! Marlene was there to greet us, welcoming us with open arms and big hugs, it's like homecoming. This Inn is more than a place to stay, it is family, comfort food galore, a safe harbor and the best staff. Erin always has the best ideas and recommendations, the new kids Jason and Joy have found a piece of heaven and fit right in. The only problem, if you consider the color of the room walls a problem, is that they changed the wall paper in our favorite room from sage green to pink! But you spend so little time in the room, who cares. Had some great photo opportunities, sunrises and sunsets. Breakfast and Lunch are super, great choices of beverages, and the ice cream self serve bar is a perfect ending to the day, We're back there next year, can't wait.

Room Tip: Don't want to share the best room as we always book it in advance (hint - #3)

We have been coming to Catalina boating and on vacation for many years and always liked to be in town. A few months ago the highly rated hotel by the pier we were booked at was horribly noisy and we found there was a room available at the inn at Mt Ada.
We are here right now for the second time. It is so beautiful! The views and fresh breeze off the ocean is amazing and so quiet. This was the Wrigleys mansion and the house is breathtaking. It is like staying at a very rich relatives home. You have the run of the place and rarely see anyone except at breakfast or lunch. There is a pantry full of snacks and a midnight ice cream sundae.
On top of everything else you have your own golf cart for your stay.
Marlene, Michael and staff bend over backwards to make your stay perfect.
If you are looking for a 5 star quiet getaway this is it.
We hate to leave..we have stayed at some of the best resorts in the world and the Inn has something special that we have never found before.
