I had a wonderful time as soon as I stepped onto the property Lori made me feel very welcome and showed me a tour of the property, I had the courtyard room and it had a small kitchen where I was able to cook breakfast for my family I have no complaints except maybe the room should had a air conditioner I think the day I was their June 29, 2013 was the hottest day ever in history even being very close to the beach, but I will be going back soon to make a reservation you will not be disappointed.

The view was beautiful. The location was great. The bed was awful and our patio door did not lock to our balcony. Our room was under the sun deck and kids ran back and forth and chairs sliding across the deck was terrible noise in our room. The sun deck should be open only from 9 am to 9 pm. People should control their children. They were also running down the halls and up and down the stairs. The hotel should have some control over this and not let it happen.

We love the area and was very disappointed with the room.

So sorry !Your stay wasn't wonderful or what you expected we share your disappointment .Especially regarding beds..we have been undergoing a year long renovationand NEW beds arrived just two days after you departed .Not just beds these are the BEST beds SERTA sells .Their Euro top line ..they are so wonderful I would like to invite you to stay in same room for free just contact Lori at hotel and she will arrange it for you...
Regarding children and Inn ..For years( nearly 60)the Inn has been family place during the summer and we agree the noise level is at times too much .I can assure you we have staff 24 hrs day concerned about the issue and with just few isolated occurances most parents and children are respectful of others .We have strict quiet time at 11pm and sundeck is locked .
Still we understand the hotel continues to evolve into more couples retreat 10 months of year ...
We advice our guest who don't like children to come after September (best weather) and no kids until Christmas break .The hotel takes on a whole different quietier romantic getaway .But grandkids are pretty cool and in small measures their execitement and joy is part of Inn experience as well. But rest assured we do our very best to insure that everyone respects each others privacy and peace of mind . Again if this is issue visit us day after LAbor Day co children in site .

Great family place steps from the beach. We have stayed here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The library of videos and board games is a gold mine for our family: on our most recent stay, we grabbed a game and went immediately to the rooftop, where we unwound together as a family right over the ocean.

Thank you Mr.Cummings !
It's been one of our great pleasures to watch your children grow up before our eyes ,each annual visit they grow head taller and more special .I just responded to letter from guest who didn't like children in hotel ,and saw your note and was reminded of how special the Inn has been to so many families.Yours has been coming for nearly 10 years !.We have a wonderful family the Kennys who have been having family reunions in July at Inn for 40 years . When we first bought the Inn 20 years ago ,two beautiful Japanese ladies (in their 70s)came to me and told me that their family had been coming every year to Inn and Avila for 40 years (before Inn was built) thats been nearly 20 years ago.Their family still comes every year to carry on their family tradition ,we are blessed to have sucjh good friends and memories, all in one place. The Inn isn't all about bricks and motar but more about shared memories over 60 years on the beach.(WHy our memory books are so popular in every room).Hopefully we will all be here when "your kids" the Kenny's ,Nakomra"s ,and Murphy"s kids bring "OUR" grandchildren and play board games on the roof watching waves and creating new family history on the beach . Thank you for sharing your life and story with the Inn.

The Inn at Avila Beach was everything I expected and more. I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday with a trip up to Avila Beach and we loved every second of it. The Inn itself is very quaint , romantic, and relaxing. The service is great, I booked the room early enough to request a room with a terrific room and for champagne to be in the room, and both those requests were met perfectly. The oceanside room is the way to go as the rooms are very spacious, have a balcony that feels like you're right on the water, and nothing beats listening to the sound of the surf only yards away. We will definitely be back with our friends to stay at the Inn and continue exploring gorgeous Avila Beach!

Room Tip: Oceanside rooms can't be beat!

My son and family gave us a night at the Inn at Avila for Christmas. Being busy poultry farmers, we find it difficult to even get away for one night. But, after 2 years, we finally got to go to the Inn. How restful it was to sit on the balcony and just gaze at the ocean....We left the sliding glass door open as it was just too beautiful to close...We read, enjoyed the quietness and the kindness of the staff. We did leave a precious book of ours in the room, accidentally, "The Authority of the Believer". Upon sending an e-mail to Edward, the manager, he helped us by sending it back to us. We will be back and most definitely stay at this Inn.....Restful and delightful.....

This was our 7 year at the Inn at Avila. We host our annual Dick Anderson Golf Tournament. We had a fantastic time at the Inn. Everyone that works there really takes care of the people that come to visit Avila Beach. Thank you again for a wonderful time. Beautiful view and great rooms!
See you soon.............

Room Tip: They are all very nice, but I love the ocean view..........

Good rate, great little hidden gem, had a room looking out over the ocean, listened to the sounds of the ocean all night. Love it here. Loved their library of books and their collection of vhs tapes though it might be time to upgrade to dvd. Walk outside and take a stroll down to the beach or get a bite to eat. Super convenient location.
