I am kind of hesitant to write a review of this place because my wife and I stay all summer up here and I really do not need more people up here, but it is fantastic! The Cranor family have lived up here forever and they are great are really super nice people!
The cabins are absolutely rustic, but anything else would take away from the atmosphere of the area. The cabins also sit on a rise behind the main store and over look beautiful Taylor reservoir and the grandeur of Ice Mountain. Where else in America can you stay in an AUTHENTIC, no tv, no phone, barely internet if the wind blowing right, wood cabin sitting at 10,000 feet.
The closest town is Gunnison, Crested Butte or Buena Vista and all are about 45 minutes away. The drives are all incredible because the trading post sits in a park, which means you have to go over 12,000 foot passes or up a canyon to get here!
It also only 7 miles from historic Tin Cup!
Truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
