“Just average food”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

The rack of Lamb was probably the worst i ever had with no flavor. The Risoto was flavorless and not creamy but the tenderloin that came with it had good flavor. The desserts were good. The dining room is very small and i got bumped ever time a server came by.

“10 years of mediocrity”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

10 years is a long time to be in business as a restaurant in Aspen so they must be doing something right. The hostess made a big deal about the 10 year menu and everything sounded great. As far as I was concerned the meal was solidly mediocre. Only one of the 6 of us sent their meal back. I wanted to send my steak back for more fire...but I just sucked it up and ate it. The service was mediocre too. Bottom line ...Wild Fig was just OK. Not great. Note even good...just OK.

“Good food but poor service”
Reviewed 7 March 2014 via mobile

Firstly let me say that I really can't fault the food in this trendy Aspen eatery - credit where it is due.
However, service, we booked in person three days ahead but when we arrived they claimed to have no record of our booking and we were treated as if we were trying to con our way in.
The hostess eventually said a table would be available if we waited but basically walked away without any sort of apology for their mistake.
The service at the table was strange, our waiter seemed disengaged and not in the least friendly - unlike every other restaurant in town.
The young girl who cleared our table snatched away plates as each person finished rather than waiting for everyone at the table to finish eating.
We had a dessert platter to finish and she stood over us three times and tried to remove the plate as we were chatting.
On the whole, I wouldn't go back, the food is good but there are plenty of other options with the complete package in Aspen.

“Solid Food, Great Service”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

The hostess and waiter were lovely, attentive but not intrusive. Nice ambiance. The menu reads well, we had the fettucine and the spanish seafood stew. Both started well but lacked a certain finesse, the stew for example needed a bit more in the way of filler like a crusty breadbasket, the pasta was slightly overcooked.
Overall not extraordinary but definitey better than average. They do excel in the atmosphere and staff department.

“Cozy, upscale Aspen restaurant”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

Excellent steak with a few too many French fries. Desert of beignets with anglaise was short of expectations. Robust service. Trendy clientele. Would return, but prices make it an occasion restaurant.
