“A good experience, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2013 via mobile

We had made reservations before we read all of the negative reviews. I must say that our dinner was lovely. The staff was very friendly. They start you with an array of amuse boche, and finish your meal with house made liquer. Our meals were large and the food wasn't heavy. The prices are steep, about 15% higher than other Aspen restaurants. My suggestion is to skip lunch the day when you plan to dine there, so you enjoy everything from the amuse boche to dessert.

“Off their game”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2013 via mobile

I have been to Il Mulino many, many times and it has, til now, been a great experience. We dined there twice this week and the restaurant, during peak ski season, was almost empty. The servers were all very nice, but very slow and not really interested in working the tables. We were a table of 9 guys-----it was like shooting fish in a barrel....but the wait staff left us with constantly empty wine glasses. The food was really good! And all of us were happy with our meals. We should not have to walk to the bar to get a drink in a basically empty place, but we did several times. They need to tighten up, As they are in danger of losing it. I will say that the bartender is the prettiest girl in Aspen.

“Superb location at base of Aspen Mtn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2013

Hard to beat for location to dine/lunch with skiers and non skiers. Great outdoor area to watch skiers come off the hill. All of Aspen is expensive, but this can be real sticker shock for a lunch with wine. Service is very attentive. Thought the food was "fine".

“Great view”

We had lunch and dinner outside on the patio in July and the food and service was good. The patio has a great view of the mountains.

“Wonderful and delicious Christmas dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2012

We had reservations for Christmas Eve and based on the reviews we had low expectations. The service from Martin was superb, the Dover Sole was filleted and cooked to perfection and the veal chop was the BEST we have ever had. We have been coming to Aspen for 10 years and it was the best meal and experience all four of us could remember. A magical night!!!!!!!!
