Gorgeous, with excellent hikes and scenery with ample wild life. Can be crowded but you can escape them with a short hike up to Crater lake.

“Simply stunning”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

Due to the govt shutdown, cars were not allowed till on the way to maroon bells. So, we decided to pick up cycles. Rented them from the city center and took a local cab service who dropper us to the starting point of the maroon bells drive. Even though the cycling was very tiring, but when we reached to the bells, it felt the effort was worth. We reached there by about 2 pm and the sparking effect on the water due to sun rays was simply amazing. Could see quite a lot of wonderful fall colors on the way up... would definitely recommend for someone to visit this place if you happen to be in Aspen.

“Classic Colorado”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

You've seen these gorgeous Colorado Rocky Mountains, in many photos, already.....now, see the real thing.....breathtaking!! Bathrooms. Trails. Hike to Crater Lake, too. Fish for trout and release, in crystal clear Maroon Lake. Accessible all seasons. Varying methods: snowmobile to car.

“Even out of season it's beautiful~”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

I visited in between seasons, really want to come back when the trees and flowers are in bloom. Will make a special trip just for this. If you have a choice of when to go, don't go in November, not the best in terms of color.

“Amazing view”
Reviewed 4 November 2013 via mobile

This view is worth the drive to Aspen alone. Make sure you check the road status from Aspen itself. There are times, mostly the summer, when you have to catch a bus up to the Bells. Also, in the winter the road closes and you will need to go with a snow mobile tour. However you get there the effort will be worth it.
