“Got to Go!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

What a great experience. Besides the multiple unbelievable photo ops. Just moving to be here. Hiked the Maroon Bells Scenic route. Make sure to hike the entire loop. The higher portion past the bridge offers a closer sense of the mountains while you hike along the fast running creek and it's water falls and loud rapids. Above the bridge the trail is rocky/craggy. Not overwhelming. Just need to be mindful. We did follow the previous Trip Advisors and arrived before the road closes at 9 am. That was a plus and took any travel pressure away freeing us up to be on own own time. Don't forget water!!! A life time memory.

“awesome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

There was a packed bus that shuttled us up to Maroon Bells. Buses leave every 15 minutes so theres no worry about missing one. The ride up the mountain was informative as the driver told us what we might expect to see. We did see some birds along the ride. Once there, the views are awesome. It's a beautiful walk. There's a river that runs along the side of the trail. It's beautiful.

“If you are in Aspen, Do not miss the maroons.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

What a treat!
If you are in Aspen, one of the very first things that you have to visit are the maroon bells.
Take the bus from the Highlands or ride your bike if you feel energetic, around 13 miles uphill.
It's a beautiful ride and once you get there it's breathtaking.
The views are great and everything is so well taken care of,that is a pleasure!
At the top you'll find rangers that will show you the way and will answer any questions.
The lake is so clear that makes you want to dive in.
If you feel like hiking, there is avery nice hike that will take you to another lake, it will take a little bit more than an hour.
On your way down stop at the pizza place (ale house) at the highlands, it's delicious!

“Beautiful mountains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

Normally, a place like this is over hyped, but not here. They may be the most beautiful mountain peaks in Colorado and with a bus ride, you don't have to fight the traffic.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

One of the most scenic and breathtaking area I have been to. The trail to the second lake takes about 75 minutes and you need to be in some sort of shape to make it. Also, bring bug spray as the mosquitos are prevalent in the summer as you get closer to the Lake.
