“Great vistas”

Bring you best camera and go early. Bring plenty of water and take one of the trails to enjoy the lake, beaver dams, moose(from across lake is safest). Earlier in day is less crowded and cooler.

“Gorgeous hiking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Trails from 1 to under 4 miles, varying skill. Even with bad back, able to navigate moderate with ease. Wear hiking or walking shoes (mine not designed for aggressive climbing but were fine). We went 3.6 miles round trip to Clear Lake for superb views of these maroon bell-like peaks. Don't miss it!

“Beautiful mountains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

The photo that everyone gets? The one with the mountains reflected in Maroon Lake? That's like two minutes into your walk from the parking lot, and it's still not the best part of your visit here. For such a popular place, the trails are fairly uncrowded and easy. I'd recommend you continue past Maroon Lake on to the waterfalls. I couldn't spend more than a couple of hours here, but they were the best two hours of my visit to Aspen.

“Bike ride to Maroon Bells”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Find a bike in town. Ride out on the bike paths to get to Maroon Creek Road. Follow Maroon Creek up to the Maroon Bells. The ride up to the Maroon Bells is gorgeous!

“Go early to avoid crowds and get the best reflections”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

What can I say that hasn't already been said - this area is stunning. If you get there early (or late) you can go in without having to do the whole bus thing which was great. We went late one evening for the evening light and early the next morning for the morning light. Both were great. More animals and wildlife in the evening, better light and reflections in the morning. Did some hiking, took loads of pics. Great flowers, animals, vistas. Can't say enough about how gorgeous this area is.
