Owner description: Once a prosperous silver mining town, the silver disappeared, the people moved out and the ghosts moved in. Twelve empty buildings stand as an eerie reminder of the community that was.

“Beautiful drive”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

This is an incredible drive between Aspen and Snowmass. The old buildings are amazing along with the history. Since the preservation takes money, the $3 admission is worth it. I will visit again someday.

“A bit boring”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Really pretty location, though where isn't in aspen. The drive out to Ashcroft was pretty. I just expected there to be more to it. There were a few log cabin buildings with not much in most of them. It was only $3 each to go so it was probably worth going to see the sights and pass the time. Just don't expect like an exciting ghost town.

“St Preston”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I am dating myself but this is where they filmed St Preston of the Yukon in the 50'S. I love to take friends here. Go all the way up the trail to see the old hotel and don't forget to checkout the saloon.

“Bicycle from Aspen”

13 miles uphill (one way) with 1600 vertical ft gain. Great scenery, great workout and the restaurant at the top is a treat. (although a little pricey).

“Ehhhhh..... ”
Reviewed 26 June 2014 via mobile

While the service here was awesome, this self-guided tour was average. All our kids saw was a bunch of mostly empty wooden buildings while we (the adults) saw a very cool representation of history. This is a neat attraction that will take about 30 minutes and is worth visiting if you need a time-burner.
