We've been ordering out from Hickory House for years, when we visit in the summer. We were recently in Aspen with friends and ate dinner at the restaurant. The ribs, BBQ beef and sides were again outstanding, and the restaurant and service were pleasant, family-friendly, and unpretentious. The prices are very reasonable, which is a nice change from most Aspen restaurants. Don't forget to take home some BBQ sauce for your grill!

This is just the perfect bbq place. Affordable and yummy, Love those thick cut onion rings. Breakast there was not so good. Hash browns tasted like they had been scrapped off someone else's plate and reheated. Yuck. Food came out fast for breakfast so it probably was pre made not fresh made just for you. But no complaints for bbq.

Probably the best ribs I have ever tasted. Imported tulip fed pork with no gaminess at all. Great brisket and the onion rings are a must order. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we made it back for breakfast the next morning, and yes, the ribs were on the menu for breakfast as well. Service was good as well. 9 / 10

This place looked like it had potential and it probably will for other people, but it missed the mark a bit for me. It has a good cosy atmosphere, the ribs (its specialty) are well cooked, very tender but covered in a rather crude bbq sauce which made them taste cheaper than they were worth. The ribs are served with coleslaw, baked beans and soggy chips, combined with being served on a piece of grease proof paper makes the food appear much more fast food than it should, because the quality of the meat underneath is quite good.

However the worst part of the visit was the experience was the service - far to rushed and harassed. The waiter pounces on you, hovers over the table and whips plates aware as you are taking your last mouthful, if feels like they are just desperate to get you out so they can get another table in.

On a more positive slant... this is really good fast food, but fairly expensive for what it is.
