“Food good, service rushed”
Reviewed 30 March 2013

This was our first dinner of this trip to Aspen and I took my young daughter as a special treat since she loves sushi. We did have to wait a few minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. The waiter was friendly but not all that attentive as it seemed the staff was a bit frantic to keep up with the crowd. Our food was good but came out too quickly with no break between courses. No one took away our dishes from the previous course when they brought out the next and the water glasses ran dry a few times. Maybe the experience would be different on a less busy night but the lack of service outweighed any good comments I have about the food.

“Not so great sushi”
Reviewed 25 March 2013

Rolls were very average. We did not finish our meal. One saving grace, the saki was excellent !! Seems very popular so may be we chose the wrong food. Nice ambience and decor - vibrant scene.

“Kenichi is Amazing!!!”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

We had a large party with kids and they took such amazing care of our group. The food was out of this world. I have had sushi at top spots in NYC, LA, SF and Kenichi is the best I've ever had. Cannot wait to comeback to Aspen....will definitely be coming back to Kenichi on our next visit.

“A bit pricey”
Reviewed 16 March 2013 via mobile

Family of five. The food was good, but for the portions. This was our most expensive meal in aspen. Keep in mind, we look for restaurants that are kid friendly. The staff was very courteous and attentive. This is a better fit for the hip, sushi cocktail crowd.

“Wow! Wow! Wow!”
Reviewed 9 March 2013 via mobile

8 guys who are well-experienced in the Aspen eating scene paid an annual visit here last night. Maybe it was the serendipity of orders, maybe it was the martinis and gimlets preceeding the meal, maybe it was the Matanzas Creek chard or the Sinskey Tres Amigos pinot that flowed abundently but at least 7 of our 8 saluted it as a best meal. Ubiquitous edamame to begin, followed by 6 orders of the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer (do not miss this dish!), ensuite 6 of us had the whole fish (striped bass) for two. Boy, were we glad! Perfecly lacquered, crispy, yet perfectly cooked inside. The kitchen was really on its game. It was one of those meals that you didn't want to end. We even toyed with the idea of bagging tonight's reservation to return to Kenechi...but we will let it linger in our belly memories for another trip and look forward to topping this performance. Wow.
