We went for lunch on Friday to Acquolina Pizzeria. The vegetarian Pizza and Panini were pretty good. We were hungry after a long walk and we just gobbled up the good food. We loved the atmosphere at the place too.

We had a group dinner at this local Italian and pizza restaurant while in Aspen for a short business conference. Our group of about 30 was literally stuffed into the rear of the main dining room on tall bar-style tables and chairs, which were jammed in close proximity and uncomfortable for many (including the ladies).

That said, the food was served hot and delicious, and the accompanying wine was very good. However, the atmosphere was average overall, and the ambient noise level quite high.

I would go there again to enjoy the very good food, but just don't expect a great overall dining experience with good ambiance, reasonable noise levels or much room to move about.

This restaurant is yet another reincarnation of, most recently, Gisella, previously, Gusto, and before that, Farfalla (the first and the best). Be prepared for a seemingly hip/chic atmosphere but without top quality food and service. Our waiter was visibly annoyed that we didn't want to take his advice on a $150 bottle of wine that didn't even take into account what our food pairings might be. Then the manager came over and knowingly suggested a wine from his "friend" in Italy. It was barely drinkable and hardly worth $135 for a 2011 vintage blend. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the fish special and it didn't taste fresh or flavorful. This is one of the new hot places in Aspen. If you feel the need to go here, stick to pizza, pastas, and a house wine. Otherwise, you will feel ripped off big time.

We had an enjoyable dinner with a reasonable wine selection. I did not select a fancy , over the top entrée, but very much enjoyed the Italian standard of spaghetti & meatballs. I love meatballs and these were very good. My friends had ravioli and vongole which they also enjoyed. This is an upscale restaurant , modern decor , on the main street of Aspen . We know nothing about Italian wine so we let the house select a wine that fit our budget ; they made a good selection.

and that's about it! The food was average at best -too pushy and loud. Hip is fine, unnecessary volume is oppressive. It may be new and "cutting edge" but I think it was a blunt weapon instead.
