“Fantastic for Pizzas...”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

This should really be a 5/5 review, as we mostly had an excellent evening in the warm, relaxed and friendly surroundings of Brunelleschi, so I will come to the reasons why it is not in a minute. Firstly, let’s point out what makes Brunelleschi’s great and why we would definitely go back next time we are in Aspen.

Go for a Pizza. The Pizzas were a real hit and being able to ‘build’ a gluten-free and tomato free pizza of this quality makes for a rare treat. Even better than the Pizzas are the desserts. There’s plenty of choice and it would seem that they are all amazing (and massive). With Pizzas this good, you will struggle to save space for a huge dessert so just accept the fact that the journey home will be uncomfortable, but ultimately hugely satisfying. Your wallet will be happy too, which is not the norm for Aspen.

So what went wrong? After some minor disappointments over not being able to make the cocktails they claimed (rectified by the quality of the ones they could), the lasagne was a real let down. The promise of plenty of meat was not met. However, if a bucket load of tomato is what you want, then this is the dish for you. But not for me – especially when the rest of the table is raving about the Pizzas. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining because I made the wrong choice; this lasagne simply lacked substance. Sorry Brunelleschi. Otherwise, great Pizzas, great dessert and wonderful service.

“Everyone Was Talking About This Place”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

We went for dinner and the line was overflowing with people. The wait staff was most accommodating and very personable. The entrance was so crowded that we were overlooked whn our name was called. The hostess Emily was very sympathetic and gave us the next available table. She even treated us to a free desert. My wife and I are huge Chicago Blackhawks and it was such a surprise to see the Blackhawks photos on the wall by the bar. The food was delicious, we recommend the garlic bead appetizers as well as the ice cream cookie sandwich.

“Excellent thin crust pizza”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 via mobile

We ate there during on a busy Friday night after New Years. The pizza was crispy and covered with sausage gorging old and caramelized onions. Very enjoyable place for a big party of 9 and the college kids liked the pizza.

“Best Gluten Free Pizza Ever”
Reviewed 5 January 2014 via mobile

Love this place. Gluten free pizza is best pizza I ever ate. Toppings plentiful, crust tastes just like a regular thin crispy crust and service quick, friendly and efficient. Please go here. Pasta, pizzas and salads delish.

“Very good food...relaxed atmosphere.”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Brunelleschi's was our choice for dinner in Aspen after it came up in the list of recommended places by four "locals", one of which worked in a high end hotel bar and knew the town very, very, well. The atmosphere was very relaxed, no glitz here, unless you were wearing it. The service was very good but not over done. We neither had pizza but will do so next time we are in town. Visiting with other diners as well as the locals who recommended this restaurant, the pizza is probably the best in Aspen. Aspen is a very expensive town but the prices at Brunelleschi's are very much in line with the quality and quantity of food that is served. I will return.
