I've done many hotel reviews worldwide but hotel Lenado is tops. Very friendly front desk, even helped us check in early. The boutique hotel has a very warm and friendly lobby with a library to use. Our room was impeccable even with some extras you wouldn't find elsewhere. Late afternoon had snacks and a open bar. The front desk people were very informative about the Aspen area. The morning breakfast blew us away with cooked to order anything..........eggs, omelets, pancakes........all served by table service. The only disappointment was finding out they will be closing September 1, 2014.

A great example of using Tripadvisor to help select our lodging for our first trip to Aspen. Great staff, especially in the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Walking distance to the shops/restaurants/taverns in Aspen. We kicked back on our balcony with a bottle of wine and looked up at the mountains. Great location in Aspen without the "posing."

Would return here in a heartbeat for our next trip.

The hotel was nice enough and breakfast was good, but I had some irregularities with my bill that neither the hotel nor the booking agent could resolve. I would not recommend this establishment for future travellers.

Stayed here 8 years ago so when we decided to come back for another ski holiday thought we'd stay at the Lenado again as it still gets good reviews. It really is a nice place to stay such a pity it will close in September. The breakfasts are the best you'll get anywhere so I hope Kyle takes a job somewhere else to ensure his breakfast skills aren't lost. Only negative is the pipes can be a bit noisy in the room at times. If your thinking of going to Aspen this summer I'd stay at the Lenado and enjoy a great breakfast in a comfortable hotel before it's to late.

Traveling through the mountains with my dogs and spend a couple nights in Aspen. The hotel is on the west edge of the walking district with a park across the street. I had a smaller room facing the street with a balcony. Breakfast included, staff is very friendly and informative on the area. The price was right and they are pet friendly. The included a humidifier in the room, which did great job on removing the dryness and provide some white noise to block the sounds of the hotel.

My girlfriend and I shopped around for weeks before choosing Hotel Lenado for our skiing vacation It seemed like everything else in Aspen was either bare bones or unusually expensive for what was offered. Our experience was so exceptional that I had to share it. Lenado is a rare gem perfect for skiers and boarders. It's a short walk to Ajax mountain and town. The staff was personable and accommodating even when a friend decided to pop in as our overnight guest with her dog. The rooms and common areas are clean and cozy. Our room had a comfortable queen bed and a small deck with all the basic amenities you'd expect. Twice daily the rooms are turned down, the complimentary soaps and shampoo are of high quality, and the lobby houses heated, locked storage space for your boots. The atmosphere is that of a warm B&B with the privacy of a hotel.

FREE breakfast! We expected the typical mass produced scrambled eggs and such but were blown away with an amazing made to order breakfast. Chef Kyle and his friendly waitstaff got our days started right with three course meals starting with fresh fruit, eggs our way, and pancakes from scratch.

After 4pm they offer complimentary snacks which included jumbo shrimp or cheese and crackers and a full cash bar.

This hotel acted like they were happy to have us there and offered an exceptional experience at a very fair price. I will gladly recommend this to friends.

The previous reviews are correct, this is a lovely boutique style hotel in a small intimate setting, almost european in style. The rooms are 'homely' and comfortable, bathroom is spacious, clean and has fabulous L'occitane toiletries. Compared to some of the other modern super-luxe places in Aspen which scream 'look at me I have money' this hotel is much more elegant and discreet.
Location is close to main area of town (5 min walk) and 2 min to the ski bus stop and 7-10 min to the Aspen gondola and lift 1.
The breakfast is indeed cooked to order and quite delicious with a good selection of healthy and decadent options. Quality food with fresh ingredients prepared with care and attention to detail.

Now comes the 'but' and I am afraid it is a big but……. the capacity for breakfast is limited to 7 tables but there are 19 rooms in the hotel. There is only one chef who does a great job but nevertheless can only cook so many breakfasts at once. Which means that you need to be at the breakfast table BEFORE the 7.30 advertised start, otherwise you have to wait until someone finishes before you get to eat. And as the aforementioned chef is only one, it takes about 45-60mins for one breakfast sitting to be completed. This means valuable skiing time is being wasted if you have not barged into the breakfast room at 7.20am to claim a spot.

Our first 2 days were filled with such annoyance, to wake up before 7.30 and yet not finish breakfast before 9-9.30 as we had to wait for a spot. On day 1 we were even told that we could not order cappuccino as the chef was too busy to make it! We came to ski and we felt put out to have the best part of the day wasted. For day 3 I vowed that if I didn't get a table at 7.30 I would ask for the breakfast cost to be refunded and we'd go and get breakfast elsewhere. I made it in at 7.25 and claimed the 2nd last table! By 7.30, 3 other couples were turned away to wait for the next available tables.

To make this place 5 stars, the breakfast area must be increased in capacity and the chef given a helper (he really is run around and I don't envy his job). If capacity cannot be added then perhaps provide an option for ordering the night before quick takeaway breakfasts which skiers can grab and eat on the way to the slope.

So in summary, this place is fantastic if you don't mind when you get your breakfast, it is very relaxing and the staff are really lovely and try to do their best. If you are at Aspen to ski and want to get out reasonably early then make sure you are up and in the breakfast room at 7.15 otherwise you'll be out fairly late.
