“Great Place”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

This is a great hotel.

It has breakfast if you want that and restaurants , on site. The staff is quite polite.

I came here with my family for two nights. It was relaxing. Form the time we woke up we could see the mountains and a peek of the river. It was like a little piece of heaven.

The suites have refrigerator and microwave. They also have cutlery, wine openers, coffe mugs etc in the room. You can easily buy stuff and carry it to the hotel as a result. We bought a bottle of wine in town and brought it back to our room.

The lack of air condition did not bother us as it was cool in the night and we were out the two days we were there. We actually got there late in the night, for the first night, but enjoyed the drive up.
We came over independence pass. If you are unfamiliar with ipMountain driving Do Not take Independence PASS in the night. That's how we arrived so we can say its not for the inexperienced or faint of heart.

There bathroom is 4 star for sure. The room has a minimalist sort of theme in keeping with the Bauhaus theme. Sehr Gute!

Room Tip: The Rooms are pretty spread out over, an area of the property. They have different option the river...

Dear TriniSuperBoy,

Thank you for choosing the Aspen Meadows Resort for your family vacation! You are absolutely correct in your recommendation for guests to drive Independence Pass only during the day. When it is dark and you cannot enjoy the views, Hwy 70 to Glenwood Springs is a much safer and easier drive from Denver.

Please do come back and stay with us again soon.

We stayed here due to a great deal we received on the internet during the off season. I did know going into this that there was no air conditioning and it was a few miles from downtown Aspen. That really wasn't a big deal however, because they do provide each room with a fan, which cane in handy. The room we stayed in had a Great bed and pillows, was very clean and beautiful. I loved the gym and how quiet it was around the grounds. Wished I stayed another night!

We had a wonderful time at Aspen Meadows we loved the setting in the beauty of nature yet very close to downtown Aspen. Actual Aspens right outside our windows! Very bike friendly and hike friendly location also. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Room was perfect for us as we really enjoyed the set up as my wife was able to study while I slept. We enjoyed the campus like setting as well. Room may not be as ultra plush with 40in TV like some but if you come to Aspen dont you want to enjoy nature? Great for families and travellers with pets as well.. much better than a downtown hotel. We look forward to staying again.

Room Tip: Shuttle or bike to downtown in minutes.

Aspen meadow resort is so beautiful .....great setting, amazing grounds, nice staff, great value for the money...wonderful rooms. We had a wonderful four day stay and can 't say enough good things about the place. In a very pricey town, sometimes with attitude, this resort is a refreshing place to stay. Beautiful walk thru the neighborhood to downtown aspen, or a convenient shuttle makes this out of downtown aspen a true gem of a place to stay.

Room Tip: If you have a dog, any room in the 100 or 200 building would be grand ----patios face a large grassy...

The negatives: Small TV, no air conditioning and 3 or 4 miles from downtown Aspen. The positives: Great bed and pillows. Great friendly service. Very clean and beautiful surroundings. Complimentary rides to and from Aspen on the half hour. Microwave and small fridge in rooms. Rooms are huge. Very Quiet.

If you are not familiar with Brauhaus style, your first impression of the 2 story concrete rectangular buildings will be a reminder of your elementary school. It's a dated look with furniture to match showing its wear. It's also pet friendly so when we sat on our patio to enjoy a glass of wine we were entertained by as many as 5 dogs running around and where there are dogs there are screaming kids. So it's great for families with pets and kids but not so for a romantic getaway. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and fun to walk, plus it's 5 minute drive to the Aspen stores and resturants. After 2 nights, our opinion of the hotel changed and we did enjoy our stay.

Room Tip: Pay extra and get a room facing the mountains

looks like an old campus quad of buildings, architecture is interesting, but that is it. buildings are old, show their age, poor ventilation/AC in the summer, can be muggy if traveling at hot time of summer, front desk staff seem put out that you are even checking in or that you might ask for directions, distant from downtown activities and eateries, hidden charges when we got our credit card statement. they seem to know they're in Aspen, and resting on that point - not going above and beyond for any sort of customer service. pull away the emperor's new clothes and you realize this isn't a great place - just happens to be in Aspen.

Room Tip: Don't get a room here. Choose a room at a different resort/hotel.
