We started off on the wrong foot with this hotel/resort. The staff that answers the phones are not the nicest at times (a lady, in particular). Also, when you call, they cannot look into your reservation and require that you give them a contact number and will call you back later in the day. We found that to be very inconveniencing.
Once we got there though, it was smooth sailing. Checking in was easy and the staff that helped us with our bags were very professional and nice. The grounds are well kept, the resort is beautiful and the rooms were clean. The bed is comfy too! The breakfast buffet was above average.
The shuttle service that they provided was always prompt and alleviated our worries of getting around.

Dear Camador87,
Thank you for choosing the Aspen Meadows for your recent stay and for taking the time to share your experience with us and fellow travelers! I’m so sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced when trying to reach us by phone! I will research this further as we certainly do not want other guests to experience the same inconveniences. I’m delighted you enjoyed your stay however, and hope that you’ll be back to visit again soon!

Excellent facility with very friendly, helpful staff. Wedding was more beautiful than we imagined. Shuttles were always available for all guests to go into town. Loved the vast acreage and walking/cross country trail on facility.

Dear Rita W,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We’re delighted you enjoyed the wedding and appreciate you highlighting our shuttle service, beautiful grounds, and of course our staff! It means a lot, especially from a local! We hope to see you back on property again soon – perhaps to dine in Plato’s.

This beautiful mountain resort was a refreshing getaway from Chicago. The staff was very friendly and were helpful when suggesting local entertainment. My wife and I enjoyed the hiking trails that lead from the creek to a larger network of trails. Our room was plenty of space for the two of us and the mountain views were like nothing we have seen before. We enjoyed a contextual view of the city and of the New Years fireworks Show from the resort. We will never forget stargazing while relaxing in the hot tub in 20 degree weather. Unfortunately, being on the bottom floor, we did not have the chance to wake up on our own terms. The room above us must have a thin floor slab because every footstep was amplified and they clearly did not sleep in. We would definitely visit again during the warmer months to experience soothing sounds of the creek right outside.I would recommend this resort for any time of the year.

Room Tip: Bottom floor was noisy from the footsteps above. Outdoor hallways are very loud when visitors are w...

Pros:
+ Peaceful, away from busy town of Aspen, has shuttle to take you into town if needed
+ Excellent check in/out and golf cart luggage service; as you cannot park near your room
+ Large grounds for you to roam around; do some hiking, etc.
+ Decent workout center with outdoor heated pool and spa
+ Rooms are nicely designed with excellent natural lighting (get second floor room with balcony!)
+ Has microwave and frig, small sink ;
+ 2 TVs and EXCELLENT WIFI;
+ Floor heating makes the room nice and cozy
+ View of surrounding mountains is a beautiful sight all day
+ Service people are very friendly and non-pretentious, this being Aspen and all.

Cons:
- The design of the lodging buildings (Bauhaus style) are not for everyone; some will love it for its simplistic German style; others will dislike as they look like school or hospital buildings. The buildings are also cheaply constructed (back in 1960) and renovated in 2000s. This means soundproofing is non-existent; everytime someone walks around outside your room, you will hear and feel it. It doesn't bother us too much, but some will find this annoying.
- Restaurant is too high priced

The hotel furniture are somewhat in need of another round of facelift, but still very clean and the staff are super friendly and the service is great. It is walking distance from downtown and there are several scenic ways to get there. The shuttle service to and from downtown is a god sent at night and on cold days and they are always happy to take you there or to pick you up. We loved the bright and airy rooms and the wilderness surrounding the hotel. We loved the tiny kitchenette. It was simply perfect for a quick bite before hitting the slopes. We highly recommend the hotel and will probably go back if we end up in aspen again.

Aspen Meadows is by far, one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had!

I recently stayed at Aspen Meadows with two other women and was very surprised on how comfortable we all were in the regular guest room. With the pull out couch on one side of the room divider and the two queens in the half of the room this was a huge and very nicely designed room. They had just finished updating all the rooms with new features including flat screen TVs, not that you are going to want to watch TV with the spectacular views! There was a nice sized tub, double vanity and a huge walk in closet, even a small kitchen which helped us keep our costs down for food, as this is the most expensive thing in Aspen. The shuttle was a great addition that left every thirty minutes from the hotel for three stops down town, and the main building was comfy and filled with wonderful amenities including nightly Smores!

Being well-traveled people however, we all know that all the icing in the world means nothing without good customer service and this is where this hotel delivers in spades!!! I felt like I was a visiting dignitary or one of the many famous people who frequent Aspen staying at one of the much higher cost hotels. Everyone I met was absolutely stunning, friendly, knowledgeable, and would bend over backwards to make sure you had an exemplary stay! Front the front desk staff, especially Vivian, to the shuttle drivers, Eric was fantastic everyone was great! Even the cleaning and maintenance crew were friendly and would help out however they could.

Don't miss walking around the Institute as the views are gorgeous and get out to the pool and hot tub as that view will literally take your breath away. Note there is no cheap place to eat on the property but with your own mini kitchen you can bring your own goodies or buy them from the local market in town. They are totally friendly with outside food.

I almost am hesitant to let people know about this hidden gem as it won't remain hidden forever but for the ridiculously good price, quiet jaw dropping beautiful atmosphere and world class service, you cannot beat the Aspen Meadows! I will certainly be back again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice and quiet with great views, I don't think there is a dud on the property!

The Aspen Meadows hotel is a real jewel. Marvelous reception area and staff which made my wife and I fee welcome after a long journey and three fights from the east coast. superb poo facility and hot tub and steam room...really marvelous. Sandy at reception, Doug as driver and Luci at restaurant were particular standouts. What a well run property. Dolce group can be very proud of this well run enterprise!
