“Great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2011

This is a great hotel. We just spent four nights there for my brother's wedding weekend. It's right in the heart of Aspen, walking distance to everything. The deluxe Queen room was large, nicely furnished, and equipped with a small fridge and microwave. The common areas such as the lobby, pool, and jacuzzi's were all top notch. The continental breakfast was very good featuring delicious house-made granola. There are single-speed cruiser bikes available for free 2 hour use. All in all a very nice place to stay. What really stood out was the great attitude and helpfulness of the staff. They were all first class. The hotel felt fairly high-end without being stuffy. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, unpretentious property right in town.

Santander62,

Thank you for staying with us for your brother’s wedding! He picked a great town and time of year to get married. I am glad to know that you were able to utilize our cruiser bikes, enjoyed the breakfast and the atmosphere that our hotel offers! Most importantly, our staff made an impression on you that they were "first class." We all look forward to having you return to stay with us.

Thank you,

Richard Stettner

We stayed for 2 weeks in Jan 2010 as part of a Ski Trip. Do not stay here if you are homophobic! My wife & I live in the Centre of Sydney so do not have an issue with the Gay crowd, (In fact some of my best friends are gay etc etc) but I think that we should have been forewarned about the Hotels major role in Gay SKI week prior to us booking. The lobby of the hotel was completely taken over by Gay Ski week events most nights & the spa was full of men every night. At one evening event in the lobby there were male waiters walking around wearing nothing but very skimpy G-strings. This is unacceptable at any time in a hotel foyer catering to the general public. I felt it was inappropriate considering there were people with children in the hotel. I believe the Management should have more consideration for the other guests. The Location was Excellent & the Room & food were very good. I would stay again, just not in Gay ski week!

Limelight staff were very friendly and helpful in typical Aspen style.

The room was quite large, had a bath-shower, empty refrigerator (which was very handy), a good size desk and comfortable bed.

The location is very good – a two minute walk to the edge of the action and five minutes walk to the Aspen Mountain gondola.

The bar area is very comfortable with some areas very home-like. I didn't have breakfast there, but it looked quite good as I walked past.

I found the free hotel internet service for my iPhone very annoying. I am on expensive global roaming while in the USA and appreciate good wifi. The problem is that the hotel system is designed to log you out after about 30 minutes so my phone kept defaulting to mobile broadband – costing me a packet. Good mobile internet is important to me and I really hope they improve the system. Other hotels in Aspen have a simpler system.

All-in-all, a very good hotel.

We had an outstanding 4 night stay at the Limelight. The property is low key but excellent in the decor, service, restaurant, complimentary breakfast, pool, room size with great storage. Out stay was most enjoyable and we would most definitely only book at room at the Limelight next time we are in town. The workout room is nicely maintained but is very hot because of it's location to the sun.

We had a pleasant stay in the Limelight lodge and one got the feeling that a lot of the people staying there were returning customers. The inclusive breakfast and free use of bikes as well as weekend music made one feel that the operator was generous. As dog lovers we enjoyed the fact that guests were allowed to bring their dogs our unfortunately miles away in the kennel !

My husband and I just returned from a four day Anniversary weekend stay at Limelight Lodge. Couldn't have asked for a nicer facility, perfect location and friendly staff. The room was huge, bed comfortable and sheets high quality. We will definitely return again and again :-)

Room Tip: Booked on-line with Expidia. Will just go via hotel's website next time
