Whether you have a pet or not, this hotel cannot be beat!
On this trip, we did have our 70lb chocolate lab, Sophie, who was the hit of Aspen and the Limelight! The staff were very welcoming to my husband and I AND our 4 legged friend (who was greeted with bacon flavored treats).
The location of the hotel is perfect for walking anywhere in Aspen. There is a park right across the street where everyone is invited to play. Aspen has a fairly lax leash law, so pets of all sizes were running and playing all over town.
The decor of the hotel is light and bright. Our room on the 4th floor was extremely comfortable and had a very nice balcony with a view of the ski area and overlooking the beautiful pool/spa area. Great blackout curtains aided in our sleeping in (much to the dogs displeasure).
The hotel offers a nice expanded continental breakfast with lots of options inlcuding an espresso machine for espresso/latte lovers. There is also a nice bar/restaurant that serves really good light italian fare. The pizza's are killer.
Again, I cannot say enough about the staff, we were always greeted promptly asking how we were and what we were up to, and Sophie knew to stop by the front desk to get her treats!
I will definately stay at the Limelight Hotel again when our travels take us back to Aspen and recommend it highly!

Room Tip: We chose the Grand Deluxe King Room and were upgraded to the Superior. Our room was 410 which was f...

This hotel was right up our alley! The conscious attention to the environment was a huge plus.
The staff were all really helpful and friendly and the room was beautiful. The whole experience was the best. This is the only place we want to stay in Aspen from now on!

I have never written a review before on trip advisor.....but our stay at the Limelight was so exceptional, that I feel compelled to write for the first time. We stayed at the Limelight based on a friends recommendation. I was nervous because we had never been to Aspen and we usually like to stay in "better known" hotels like The four Seasons or The Ritz when we travel so that we can be assured of quality service and comfort. However, out of all the hotels we have stayed in around the world...we have never had the kind of service that we received at The Limelight. The staff is so helpful and amazing. They were always smiling, and willing to answer any of our many questions. They even drove us around town, making our rental car completely unnecessary. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a positive youthful feeling. And the location was the best in Aspen (as far as we were concerned.) We definitely plan to go back to Aspen, and I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

Management response:Responded 9 July 2012

Dear Jessm866,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent experience with us and how that compares to some of the other hotels you have stayed at around the world. I used to work for one of those chains for many years and it is amazing to see how we can provide that type of service in our stand alone hotel.

I have shared your review with the team here and I assure you that we all take great pride in creating lasting memories for our guests so much so that they want to return.

We all look forward to your next visit and thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing.

Regards,

Richard Stettner

I stayed at the Limelight Hotel while attending the Aspen Ideas Festival. The hotel is fabulous--the rooms are spacious, everything is new and beautiful, and the service is excellent. The hotel is centrally located downtown and everything is withing walking distance. If you don't want to walk, their driver will take you where you need to go. I highly recommend this property.

As a traveler with multiple chemical sensitivities, I am frequently treated like a nuisance when inquiring, before making reservations, about laundry detergent, paint, windows opening, room "freshener", etc. The staff at The Limelight Hotel was so understanding, so compassionate, so eager to please, it actually brought me to tears. The fact that Aaron marked our room as out of service a few days prior to our trip so they could keep the windows open just to make sure blew me away. From Agi in reservations to Elizabeth at the front desk to Aaron's above-and-beyond concern to the cheerful greeting at check-in to Terry in housekeeping and to the lovely ride to the airport with Ryan, I could not have asked for a better stay.

The decor of the hotel is modern and fun. Our room 331 was absolutely immaculate. The included breakfast was just perfect. Great coffee! The location is just ideal, a block or two from absolutely everything.

My stay here was so perfect and positive that Aspen will now be my only ski destination and, of course, I'll only stay at The Limelight Hotel.

We arrived late night for a wedding in town and Elizabeth was super friendly checking us in. Our room was gorgeous! Modern, large, spacious, with a Keirog coffee maker for that early caffeine slap in the morning, and we couldn't haven been happier.
The continental breakfast is a feast. Hand selected items, here you will get a lot of quality, not a lot of cheap stuff in quantity.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Aspen. It has a great location, great amenities, and palace like rooms. And to top it all off? Top notch staff.

Every year we return to The Limelight to host clients and friends during Food & Wine. The staff has always been super attentive to our needs and has helped us to pull off our functions flawlessly. Richard and Henning set the tone for a great experience so make sure you say hello before you leave. The lobby bar/restaurant is a great spot for happy hour (try the pizzas too), big glass windows, wide open spaces and a huge fireplace. The rooms are sunny and nicely decorated without feeling like a museum, very inviting for sure. It is hard to beat the location and while not slopeside, access to town is right out your door. The value for what you get is terrific but you never feel you are in a value hotel. A must if you are heading to Aspen.

Room Tip: The Penthouse (#419) is a great option for hosting a large group with one of the best views in Aspen...
