“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

I can't think of any other superlatives. The Limelight provided my wife and I just a perfect stay for 5 days in early March. They have large SUV;'s and vans and luxury cars with the nicest and most courteous drivers. They just don't say "no". The front desk staff is very efficient and knowledgeable. The room (#415 I think) was huge with views of Ajax and downtown Wagner park from the spacious shared 4th floor balcony. The bathroom was well done and elegant. The bed was not over-stuffed but very comfortable. It was so quiet at night you thought you were out at a country ranch. Better yet there was a kitchen with a full-sized fridge/freezer. We walked a block to a liquor store and stocked up for bloody Mary's in the am! But I must repeat the mantra seen in previous reviews: The breakfast buffet is unique and robust. So much for every palate. I really appreciated this pre-ski. Of course we were there to ski, and we had previously stayed up in Snow Mass at the venerable Viceroy. (The Viceroy pampered us with ski-in/out and I was not sure we were going to like having to walk to Ajax or get a shuttle out to snowmass or buttermilk or highlands). But this being our 2nd ski trip to the Aspen/Snowmass 4 mountain area, we decided to stay in Aspen, close to all of the nightlife and fine dining and shopping. If you rent your equipment from 4-Mountain sports and just turn it back in every day, you don't have to lug all that gear around-which is nice. The hotel was always there to drop you off and pick you up at whichever resort you ended up that day. And the apres-ski scene at Limelight is one of the best in town. Just a great atmosphere with gourmet pizza aplenty. Location is superior as you are short walks to everything the little town has to offer. The only thing that was disappointing (and this is not Limelight's fault) is that Aspen Mountain is just a short walk, and I thought that we would be doing most of our turns there, until I realized that Ajax is a bit much for a Novice-Intermediate couple of skiers from the deep south!
But I assure you you cannot go wrong with the LimeLight. I probably left out a lot but feel free to email if any questions.

Room Tip: It looked like almost all levels above the ground floor had some type of balcony-either private or s...

Dear ramolon,

Thank you for taking the time to write a very thorough review of your recent stay with us. You hit on a couple great points such as the views from the rooms and the overall care/concern of our staff. The staff here will truly give you the best local insight into town, the mountains and anything you ask them about. They really do want to help make sure you create amazing memories of Aspen and your time here.

I hope that you get the opportunity to return and maybe take part in our Inside Tracks program which can help orient you to all of the mountains so that you can find the type of runs that you are most comfortable on.

Warm regards,

Richard Stettner

This was our third stay at Limelight and it was better than ever before (which was hard to top our previous stays there).

I can't say enough about the value you get at the Limelight...especially in a town like Aspen it is really refreshing. I'm actually staying these next three nights at another hotel, one that will go nameless, but I can say I'm paying three times as much as I paid at Limelight.

The service at the Limelight is what truly sets it apart. There isn't a request you have that they can't fulfill. They'll drive you anywhere in town (or as far as Snowmass) for free, at last minute notice and they'll do so happily as if your long lost relatives. Every other request is met with a smiling "I can do that!"

The rooms are great, the food is incredible, the atmosphere just perfect...all-in-all, it was the best value I've gotten in the past year (that includes 18 trips).

Room Tip: Just ask ahead of time.

Prompt pickup at Aspen airport by Ben but avoid Aspen airport!!!! 2 day delay with United getting into Aspen, and cancellation on the way home, with perfect weather. Friendly front desk recommended Charm Chauffeurs to Eagle airport. Charmaine was super helpful and even stopped for our dinner on the way. She was a lifesaver because United delayed Aspen flight the next day. If you want to enjoy your time at Limelight, don't fly into Aspen. It's no bargain, you'll miss lots of time you planned to be on the slopes. Liz at hotel checkin was very nice.

Susan the operations manager needed some honesty in dealing with group travel arrangements to the airport. If you are part of a ski club, at time of booking resevation , check on capacity .

When a group of friends and I started discussing a spring trip to Aspen, I knew the LL would be the perfect place for us to stay, having been to the restaurant a few times for apres over the past couple of years. It is so unique to find a property that is able to achieve a vibe that is both casual and friendly (I felt 100% at home all weekend), but also totally upscale, with all the services we want (ski concierge, drivers to take us up to Snowmass, etc). The entire staff was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. The restaurant/bar is so perfect to come home to after skiing - always lively and cozy and fun. All around - had a phenomenal stay at the Limelight and cannot wait to go back!!

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your vacation was! Everything that you discussed in your review is what we try to do each and every day for all of our guest's. I have to say that I also really enjoy sitting in the Lounge listening to the music and enjoying one of our pizzas after a day on the slopes.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Limelight Hotel during our short stay in Aspen, Colorado. Although I do rely heavily on Trip Advisor reviews when choosing a hotel, I have never reviewed a hotel - but I felt compelled to do so in this case. This hotel is wonderful - high end with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and warm & helpful - genuinely interested and attentive to their guests needs. The location could not be better - downtown Aspen - at the base of Aspen Mt and nestled among the great restaurants and shops. Getting to any of the mountains was easy - via free hotel shuttle or in town bus. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable with spectacular views! More importantly, I was able to get a great night sleep - the bed was comfortable AND, although the hotel was at full capacity, our room was very quiet! The buffet breakfast - which is included - was PHENOMENAL!!!! Not to be missed!!! We could have hung out in the lobby lounge all day as it was large, but cozy, with many comfy sitting areas and a large, inviting fireplace. Après ski was also wonderful - delicious food, drinks and live music make for a wonderful evening and great way to end a long day of skiing! Definitely try one of their handcrafted, wood-fired pizzas and {to die for!!!} apple pie for two!!! Overall, we were very impressed with the Limelight - it is truly a gem in Aspen. Our stay was short - but very sweet - and we look forward to a longer stay during our next visit to Aspen!

We were there for a conference. Very nice place to stay. Clean, staff helpful, live music and the food is fresh and good value. I loved the breakfasts!
The rooms are excellent, high end fixtures, beds are comfortable.
We will return to the Limelight Hotel.
Thank you for a memorable week.

Room Tip: If you want privacy, best not to get a room that opens out to the spa. You can't really open the...

This is our 10th time in Aspen but our first time staying at The Limelight. The overall experience was so fantastic that we will not consider staying anywhere else for future trips. We stayed for 12 nights in room 435, which had a small balcony, fireplace and beautiful view. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was large and well appointed. The room was clean, modern and very well maintained with good attention to detail. Small kitchenette and coffee/hot chocolate/tea machine were great and well appreciated. It is amazing how many hotels in the US do not provide tea and coffee making! Apres is great- wood fired pizzas are delicious and reasonably priced. Live music most nights with a good vibe in the lounge area. Food was generally very good so we dined there several times during our stay. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful with good healthy choices as well as more indulgent fare. The free airport and mountain transfers are another bonus as is the Inside Tracks program. We were lucky to attend the famous beer dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are exceptional in every way. They go the extra mile every time and are friendly and cheerful. Limelight you rock!

Room Tip: 4th floor is quiet and has great views as well as a nice outdoor sitting area.
