Spacious room with crackling fireplace and great shower.
Bus stop out the front and still only 5 minute walk from centre of Aspen. Staff are super friendly and après ski and breakfast are adequate and a bonus.

Our December stay at the Molly Gibson Lodge was truly unforgettable. My boyfriend and I were picked up by the MG Shuttle after our flight into Aspen was delayed due to fog in Denver. We checked into our room without any difficulties, I requested a room on the 2nd floor with a king bed and fireplace (and that is what we received). The hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable when we had questions on how to get to surrounding locations not familiar to us. The morning breakfast was delicious and they offered healthy choices like yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. The wine & cheese in the evening was a major bonus, they offered sliced carrots, tomatoes, peppers, celery and hot soups to enjoy, the lady who hosted this evening event was welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and free internet to the fullest. The MG Lodge was located in the heart of Aspen; we would walk or take a short bus ride to our desired destination.

We purchased the Living Social Deal for this hotel after spending our weekend Honeymoon at Hotel Aspen the year before. Our first attempt at heading up to Aspen our car broke down in Breckenridge. We called the front desk not knowing if our car could be fixed and we could make our reservation. Michael kindly told me that I had until 4pm to change the date on my reservation if necessary. Unfortunately, the car could not be fixed that night, so we changed the date to a night in October - no charge. Thank you!

Attempt two at a weekend in Aspen... we made it up later in the evening on Friday night and were given a room next to the little hot tub on the main property (128 I think). The room was clean and warm but had very little room for walking around the bed... but you make it work when it's more affordable than any other decent hotel in Aspen! Our dog bed fit into a corner and we put his bowls almost in the closet.

The bed is super soft, but comfortable. Included breakfast is yummy if you like scrambled eggs and freshly made waffles or cereal. Coffee, hot cocoa and tea are good too. The park across the street is perfect for dog walking and playing. Great location... easy walk to downtown even in the cold.

Overall... great place to stay on a budget... Preferred Hotel Aspen because the room size was larger, but both hotels are comparable with great service.
