I have stayed at this hotel many years ago. I decided to take my husband and son to Aspen and I booked this hotel again. It was everything I had hoped and more. My family felt so comfortable and welcome. Hot, fresh cookies in the lobby, lemonaide, water, coffee, hot chocolate and cappuccino as well. Wonderful breakfast in the morning. Large hot tub, clean pool, large workout room...I can go on and on. We plan to return to aspen again soon and this hotel is a large part of the reason!!!!!! I would NEVER stay anywhere else in Aspen!

My wife and I stayed three nights here and were throughly impressed. Our room was on the third floor in a corner room right across the street from the St. Regis. It was fun to consider the fact that we could stay for about a week for the same price as one night across the street and, once we left the motel we'd be walking just as far as the rich and famous. Our room was cozy and quiet with a queen size and murphy bed. The biggest surprise was the outstanding breakfast which ended up saving us money since we didn't end up eating lunch until much later. I also loved the fully equipped gym which had everything I needed to do the regular routine I do at home. It was very dog-friendly and the park right across the street was a bonus when it was time to play a little ball with my dog. I'm sure there are more plush accommodations available but if you're like us and you're closer to poor and anonymous than rich and famous this has to be one of your top choices!

Room Tip: Room 320 is very bright with a big window that overlooks the entrance to the St. Regis.

This is Aspen lets all remember that when writing reviews. Hotel rooms are super expensive in ski season and Summer prime time.

This hotel is an excellent value for Aspen. The location is perfect, trully perfect walkable to everything! The staff were all super nice but young kids this isnt a 5 star hotel. The staff was all very nice and helpful but dont expect a butler just because its aspen. Its not super luxurious but the location is perfect and it has a really cool charm/vibe.

For the people who complained price made you have either have unrealistic expectations or you wanted to hate it. You are next to one of the most expensive hotels in america the st regis aspen. You are in the perfect location. If you want that kind of luxury and pampering go pay that price. This is an excellent value for the location, has a cool gym, great pool, and i would recommend to anyone headed to Aspen.

Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent, right near the center of town, on a quiet street. The room was comfortable and spacious. The facilities (pool, sauna, etc) were extensive. There were fresh-baked cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. Secured parking in the garage was appreciated. Breakfast was excellent - a large buffet of cold foods plus a full hot breakfast, cooked to order. Good value for the money. Cons: Reception at the front desk was cold and unfriendly. The light was not adequate in some parts of the room, including at the bedroom mirror where there was no light at all. Overall, a good place to stay.

the hotels in aspen are very expensive but this hotel seems good value ( but still expensive ) compared to some of the others.
the suite we had was clean and comfortable with a fridge etc and the breakfast was excellent.
the pool was heated and a good size.
the location was perfect--2 minutes from restaurants and shops (iif you want to pay the silly prices in the shops)

Mt. Chalet manages to get it all right. Great price, great service and great location in town. It is a throwback to older days without feeling tired and careworn. IT is everything you need - location, hot tub, pool, adequate room, remodeled bathroom, comfy bed, good view without being all the fluff that you probabally don't need and would have paid for if you stayed somewhere else. It is a true B and B and just when you thought they were extinct in Aspen. If you want something a bit upscale, look elsewhere. But this place was just perfect landing pad for hitting the town.

We stayed there for one night during our most recent motorcycle trip from Canada. Very friendly and accomodating people at the front desk. Big clean room, heated pool and hot tub. Good breakfast and friendly staff. And very convenient indoor parking. Would recommend and stay again.
