“Back again - and just as wonderful!”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

We did indeed return as planned.

And this stay was just as nice, if not better. (The only thing that even could be "better" was the air conditioning, as everything else was as close to perfect as it gets last time, too, and... This time, the air conditioning remained wonderfully COOL despite higher temperatures in town.)

We'd like to thank Matt (I think we got that name right) and all of the other Bell Staff for their speed in driving us wherever we needed to go. Given difficulties adjusting to the altitude, this was a very welcome perk, and one that we carefully weighed when deciding to return.
To be able to have free and quick transportation to other areas of town, including to the Aspen Institute campus, is a real benefit of staying here.
From our few interactions at other hotels, we didn't get the feel that any other location would give the cheerful service we have consistently received here.

We still love the quaint decor.
(If you want modern, "it could be any city", decor, this probably isn't the place for you. This is *special*. The antique furniture and antique maps and prints on the walls are a welcome change. Everything is in excellent condition, not "run down" type of antique.)
The furniture was exceedingly comfortable, and the bed linens were amazing. Once again, better than what we've encountered even at other 5-star hotels.

This time we had a wonderful view of the big mountain, and wish we could see it in the winter, with the ski areas in use. But since we don't ski, we probably will continue to stay here in the summer.

Once again, we wish that there were COCA COLA products available at the Hotel, especially Diet Coke.
But it turns out the town of Aspen is in general a "Pepsi" town, almost everywhere. Fortunately, the drugstore around the corner carries Diet Coke, and we stocked up with bottles of Diet Coke from there.
(And the restaurants in town that claimed to serve us "DIet Coke"...? We aren't sure what it was, but it wasn't what any Diet Coke we've ever had tasted like.)

We plan to return here next year, again, of course.

Stayed at Hotel Jerome over the July 4th weekend. Very cute and charming hotel with lots of history. My king room was huge with a sofa bed, two period chairs with ottomans, double closets, and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, double vanities, and a large tiled stand up shower. The bathroom products were nice. Room service was dependable and did a great job. This hotel is expensive, but you need to understand that this is not a St. Regis, Four Seasons, or Ritz where everything is new and modern. This hotel was built in late 1800's and parts of it look like the 1800's, but that is what i loved about it. Great location on East Main Street and cute and pleasant staff. They also provide free shuttle service in town in a brand new Cadillac Escalade.

This century-old hotel stands sentry over Main Street. Friendly people, perfect location, cool bars, large rooms, elegant furnishings. I hate to leave.

For 800,00 dollars a day I'll stay anywhere else next time.
You can't control the heater, the front ronns are too noisy.
There is no facilities, not even a decent place to rest after skiing.

We just returned from our first visit to Aspen, and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Jerome. The good feeling began as they picked us up at the airport, complimentary! A very nice ride in a Cadillac Escalade. The complimentary transportation is good for any where you want to go in Aspen. Keep in mind that Aspen is pretty small, so walking is almost always a viable option as well. The hotel is right in the middle of town, on Main St, so it's easy to get around on foot.
The rooms are decorated in a gothic Victorian style, similar to what was popular when the hotel was built, in the 1800's. We stayed in the original portion of the hotel, but the newer part looks almost the same as the old part. The restaurants and room service were very good. Not cheap, but then again, Aspen is not a low-budget destination, so prepare accordingly. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and hottubs. It's really wonderful to sit in the hottub and have gorgeous views of Aspen Mountain. The cobalt blue-tiled pool and spas were relaxing and a great way to wind down.
Overall, a great stay, and we would stay again upon return to Aspen!

This place for the money is a real joke. I hear the Broadmoor Hotel out of the
Colorado springs area may buy it. Maybe then and only then will I stay at the Jerome again. Staff clueless, unclean rooms, nothing seemed to work in the room. Do yourself a favor skip this one. For the dough one big disappointment. I would think that those people who gave positive reviews on this place should ger a "check up from the neck up".

The Hotel Jerome can't be beat for location and charm. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, if not a little overworked. They seemed to be staffed for the low season, but had more guests than anticipated. We had a junior suite that was very well appointed. My only complaint was that the housekeeping was a bit unpredictable. They didn't come until 2 pm on Saturday, and when we asked them to come back in an hour and then told the housekeeper directly when we were leaving the room, it was still not made up at 6 pm. However, when we returned from dinner at 9, turndown service had been done. Overall a very nice hotel, just wish that the room cleaning had been a bit more proactive.
