“Fabulous then, Even better now!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

This was our first visit to the Jerome since the remodel, and we were concerned that the Auberge group might tarnish the vibe and service at the spot that has long been the flagship of historic hotels everywhere and an Aspen icon. They have not. The new dining and lobby areas are functional, comfortable and great. The service and staff remain as close to perfect as you are likely to encounter at any expensive, five star property anywhere in the world. Our room was stylish, comfortable and beautifully redecorated (we faced north, and it was quiet even in the Aspen madness). The best things (other than the breakfast service) are that they did not screw-up the pool area or the J Bar. Every person or company that thinks they want to run an historic propery should be required to do an apprenticeship at the Jerome.

I was at a conference for 50 women over this past week-end and can honestly say from an experience point of view it was perfect. The staff were on the ball but not in your face. The facilities were great.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, mini bar well stocked and most items complimentary.

Of course aspen is beautiful with amazing shopping, farmers markets on Saturday and the summer art fair was on.
All of this on the doorstep of the Jerome. Efficient airport transfers as well.

The hotel Jerome is very well situated in the very center of town, yet it was quiet and we felt papmpered. It is upscale, newly remodeled with classic, yet whimsical furniture (carved wood, skin seats on chairs). Turn down service is nice, all staff is very eager to make your stay a pleasure. The pool is warm and clean, though small, and always attended by friendly staff. Pick up and delivery is free, as are the snacks and drinks provided in the room (all but the "Fred" water). Each room also has a convenient IPad for guest's use in communicating with staff, and many electronic connections.
A big plus is the tonic water at the registration desk and the Yerba tea in the fridge (to combat altitude sickness) that I experirnced for the first time, both free.
I only wish it had free continental breakfast included.

My husband and I stayed here for my 40th Birthday trip to Aspen, and the Hotel was absolutely stunning. The charm and character of the hotel makes you feel like you have travelled back to 1890. The staff was very attentive and helpful with making local arrangements. The hotel is in walking distance of everything. The room was a little dark for my taste, but since we were outside so much it was not a bother. We would definetly stay here again!

The Jerome's recent full renovations are beautiful, and THANK GOODNESS they kept the old-fashioned ambiance of the "Old Jerome". We were worried that it would turn into yet another luxury hotel such that once you walked in the door, there was no hint of even what city (or country) you were visiting. (We've had that experience in some international travel, when we felt like instead of London, for example, we could have been in Chicago. In those cases, we left and found a hotel where we felt like we were actually in the city we were visiting.)

The beds and bed linens are still among the most comfortable anywhere.
The food in the restaurant was excellent (much better than in years past), and they have an extensive and impressive wine list, at all prices.

The blue custom carpet in the main lobby is just stunning, and captures both the western feel and super luxe. Extra touches like this do matter.

And the AC was much easier to control, and it was a good thing, as the weather was very hot.

As usual, the hotel was very obliging in driving us around town as needed, or picking us up. Ordinarily, we'd walk, given the very walkable size of Aspen, but one of us has some difficulty with the altitude, although less so this visit - a nice surprise.

We've already made plans to return for our 5th stay next year.

On a relatively minor (petty?) note, the bathroom amenities were a bit sparse, not like previous visits, and they weren't fully refreshed/replaced when housekeeping was straightening up or cleaning.

The Jerome remains a favorite!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the mountains (either direction), rather than an interior view. This...

The hotel is located right in the mix of all the shops and restaurants making nearly everything walkable. The staff is courteous and professional. The decor is modern and yet in keeping with the historical nature of the building. The pool is dreadfully small and adjacent to the restaurant. The food is not bad though overpriced. We also found the rooms to be priced quite high. Worth visiting the restaurant for one lunch or brunch though maybe not a full stay.

We stayed here for a long weekend and couldn't have been happier. I was a little skeptical about the hotel because I tend to favor more modern style hotels and was worried because it is a historical property that it might be a little old fashioned and stuffy - but I was completely wrong. The redesign is just fabulous - totally modern yet in keeping with the Western rustic theme of the building and town. Our room was huge - we had a one bedroom suite (rm 444) - and it was a great comfy retreat after a long day hiking. All the staff were super friendly and helpful - the concierge helped us quickly planning our hikes and with dinner reservations. We brought our car and the valet was quick and efficient. The best surprise, though, was the restaurant. The food there is just fantastic. We had a breakfast, lunch and dinner over our stay and enjoyed the food immensely. The french toast was the best I've had in a long time - crisp on the outside and soft on the inside - and came with this amazing turkey pistachio sausage. Often hotel restaurants aren't that great, but this one really is. The service in the restaurant was, however, pretty slow. But it was friendly and the food quality made us overlook the delays (we had bk in our room on the last day and they were right on time). I also used the spa for a massage and thought the facilities were lovely with a cozy relaxation room and nice treatment room. The massage was great and all the staff there were very friendly. The location is right on Main Street and is convenient to everything with a drugstore right next door. We had thought about staying at the Little Nell instead but the only available rooms were twice the price of the ones here. In retrospect, I'm glad we stayed here and would definitely do so again.
