The HGI in Aurora is our home away from home whenever we travel to Denver. We love the location (off the highway and easy access to points north, west and south). Close to several good restaurant chains. And the staff has very low turnover and are just as nice to us and spoil each trip as much as they did the very first one.
Jesse is still the best manager we have found at any of the Hiltons we have stayed at. And Brad was extremely helpful this last trip with one of our special requests. And don't forget to say Hi to Ms. Vicki and Ms. Judy at breakfast each morning. The made to order omelettes and blueberry pancakes rocked!
From the outdoor fire pit and the beautiful landscaping. to the top floor rooms with comfy beds and mountain views, we love this hotel. Check-in and check-out were speedy and efficient both times. The parking lot repaving was complete by the first day of our visit, so parking once again is back to normal.
For those of you that read my reviews regularly, you know I do not trust perfect, gushing reviews. So I always try to find at least one thing to complain about. I looked hard and only came up with two things: They have switched to the Keurig single cup coffee makers and the multi-step process frustrated an old dog like me. I prefer the old simple pots, but I am sure the young, hip crowd is pleased. Finally, the refrigerator must have been replaced from the one the cabinet was originally built for, because the front right leg stuck out a bit too far to catch the cabinet, which means the refrigerator was unstable and kept tilting to the right, causing the door to not close properly. Maintenance should be able to fix it easy enough with a small wood block set back under the refrigerator, but it was annoying enough by the 4th day I quit using the darn thing.
Overall, will say the same thing I have said about this HGI before - the corporate office should send their executives here, because they will learn how it should be done to make ever guest have a great stay.
