The lounge chairs are very comfortable. The recliner option is especially nice. The sound system is exceptional.

“Expensive lunch -- lacking flavor”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

This summer, we had hoped to have time to try out the newly remodeled Southlands Dine-in AMC Theater and were looking forward to reclining in the plush seating and enjoying the touted "gourmet" twist on movie-theater food! The presentation is straightforward and clean. You make your selections (limited) from a computer, pay for them, and then go wait in the theater for the server to deliver your food. We ordered 2 paninis and a hard cider and a green apple martini: $45! The drink choice did not get delivered to the cash register, so we had to reorder -- still some glitches in their system. My apple martini was TINY. Only filled a quarter of a glass! WAY over priced ($8.99) for the quality and quantity. My husband's cider was good. The paninis were ok, but needed seasoning, and we weren't given any. We remembered, too late, that the ketchup and mustard were between the chairs, so maybe the salt and pepper were there as well. We thought our server had forgotten a set of silverware, but found it later on the floor. If you needed anything extra (napkins, etc.) I suppose you would have to get up and go get them. My husband's fries were just average, and my fruit salad was a little mushy, with dried mint sprinkled on it. Serving size was kind of small, and my husband was hungry for lunch after lunch! Good thing our movie choice kept us happy! We'll be back, but not for the food.

We have visited the theatre 4 times since it reopened. Each time we have had ok experiences, but overall my feedback is: keep the seats, scrap the food!

The leather recline chairs are fantastic! The food stinks! We have ordered pizza, chocolate/peanut butter cake and wraps on our different occasions...none were worth a penny much less the high price that was on them. There are numerous restaurants in the area, enjoy the movie but don't eat there.

Now for the most obnoxious part, the interruptions! If you are lucky you will sit next to people that remember this is not their living room, but a theatre! You are to be quiet, not give commentary or discuss the disappointment in the food as though you are in your living room. The most obnoxious being the staff coming in and out, in and out delivering after the movie starts, correcting bad food, reassuring people that they must leave their seats to order food or drinks or that the push buttons really do work! Yes, these are conversations we listened to almost every visit during the middle of the movie! As much as we love the seats, we have found ourselves going to "old" theaters to catch quiet films more often than not!!

“Great seats, bad food”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

This theater has been open about 4 months now and after 3 visits, here is my review. You will love the power leather reclining seats (as long as the popcorn from the previous patron has been cleaned out of it). The armrest for each set of paired seats is able to be raised up.
The theaters hold fewer people than a regular mega-theater.

Price differences from other AMC theaters vary between regular, 3D, IMAX, weekends but are about $1.25-5 per ticket.

Beer and mixed drinks are available. Nice.

Problems - Food is not great. The food is going to be pricey because that is how theaters make their money. Popcorn in 8 and soda is 5.50. The one size is only about 16-20 ounces which guarantees someone will have to get up during the movie to refill it if you are used to the much larger sizes at other theaters. This location has no burgers then, mostly flatbreads, entrees, appetizers. You order on a touch screen, then go into the line to pay, and since they know your seat they bring it to you before the movie starts. This tends to make the theater smell like the food. The first visit I ordered a flat-bread that was soggy and so small I wondered where my $10 went. My daughter's kids meal chicken was fine but it is served with fruit (great start) but it is covered in a mint garnish which makes everything taste like mint. Who researched that option? We have ordered nothing from the "kitchen" since the first visit. There are 12+ restaurants 4-5 minute walk away that are counter, or casual that are far better). I get that they are trying to save you time, but it is not worth it.

Theater issues - the reclining seats are fine but they installed the swivel seat trays in a way that COVERS the cup holders, making them useless unless the tray is extended, which block the view of the screen. 3 visits and I have seen 2 spilled sodas before the movies.
Also there is a clear-plastic screen at the back of each row, a guard of some kind, but when you recline all the way, this plastic is in the way of the screen..

General advice -
You should REALLY get tickets online. The theaters are all reserved seating so walking up to the ticket-booth and trying to see the screen with the seats through the tinted glass can be difficult during the day. On the weekends, plan on sitting in the front row if you don't already have tickets

If you go just for the seats, great, get online and buy the tickets. But avoid thinking you are going to get a decent meal with the film. .
