Hmmm...I think the whole experience can best be summed up in one word: SCARY! Yes, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were SCARED! This place has got to be in one of the WORST areas of Denver ever! The moment you get off the freeway, you get this god awful, dreadful feeling that you have gotten lost in a bad part of town. Only you haven't because you inputted the address into the GPS and indeed, the GPS got you there. But the first thing you notice that is wrong is that this is supposed to be a Travelodge, yet the signage in front of the lobby says Super 8. In fact, other than the big, BIG sign you can see from the freeway, pretty much everything else on the property still said Super 8. Then, the thing that REALLY freaked me out was when I entered the lobby and was greeted with a receptionist separated from me by a glass window stretching from the counter to the ceiling! Wait! This is a hotel, right? Not a bank. Oh. Unless, of course, the thugs in the area think they are all pretty much the same. But just the whole idea of exchanging money through a little drawer in the glass for a hotel reservation and not a bank transaction gave me the creeps. OK. So, because we had spent a good part of the night finding a good Chinese restaurant in Denver, we arrived rather late, and as such, most of the rooms were already distributed. The one we got was upstairs, far, FAR away from where we had parked in the lobby. OK. So we decided to move the car to where our room was, only to find that going one direction you run into a block and so you have no choice but to go via the other side. On the other side, there were masses of people outside, all of which were either drug dealers, gangsters, or hookers. Once we got to our room, we realized the lock was very loose because someone had tried to destroy it once upon a time. That was not very comforting. So in we wheeled all our stuff and then parked the car in front of the lobby, where at least there were still lights and it was somewhat away from the crowd. Hopefully, if anything were to happen, at least the receptionist would see it. But both nights we were there, there were sirens, police cars, police coming up and down the stairs knocking on people's doors. Yeah, apparently, we later found out that our neighbor had been arrested. In the morning, when we tried to get breakfast, the "crowd" was already there, so naturally, we said "No thanks." Upon check out, the place was once again surrounded by police cars, as we saw police handcuffing people and escorting them away. Man, after we left that place, I was still somewhat shaking. So please, please, please. For your own safety, DO NOT STAY HERE!

Room Tip: Just don't come here! You will be sorry if you do!

Dirty sheets, towels, walls splash with something, black grout on shower walls, stains on shower curtains. Dirty carpets, night stand draws dirty, furniture looks like it had been standing in water. Wall board plaster falling apart at the base. Scary people hanging out in parking lot. Did not feel safe inside or out. Prepaid for three nights. Spent four hours and requested a refund for prepaid amount and checked out. Lost money for one day but saved our health and life. Do not stay here dangerous place. In 120 the rules for the motel are on the door. I pulled them out of the holder to see what the refund policy was and underneath it was another copy that looked like blood splatter all over it. Terrible

On July 13 my grandson stayed at the Travelodge in Aurora Colorado for 3 nights. When we arrived there were questionable people there, which made me nervous. The next two nights wasn't bad. However, the room was clean, but mold in the corners, the toilet was loose, along with the toilet seat, and the light in the bathroom would sometimes not come on entirely, very dim and the bathroom was very small. On Tuesday July 15th, the housekeeper never made our beds, but did leave us with clean towels and emptied the trash. The hotel needs a complete make-over inside and out. Actually it needs to be torn down completely and rebuilt!! I have stayed at the Travelodge in San Diego, which was real nice so I am totally disappointed in this Travelodge in Aurora!

Leaky sink faucet. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it so it can off every night. The carpet was dingy. There were people arguing outside every night. The neighborhood was scary. There was mold in the corners. We only stuck it out since we were only there at night. It's worth spending extra money & going somewhere else.
