There really isn't anything to get excited about at this buffet. The food is o.k. at best. I did like the hot and spicy tofu. The juice this was cooked in would have made a delicious soup on its own. Everything was fresh and up to standards is the one thing. I did see the fish heads that a previous reviewer mentioned.
High sales tax alert!!! Plan to add $1.00 per person to the check to cover the absurdly high sales tax due to the location of this restaurant. The price of the buffet is in line with the other Chinese buffets in the area. You will get sticker shock when the final check comes if you are not aware of these taxes.

“Big Disappointment”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

Being new to Denver, CO, I looked on the web for a good review for a seafood buffet. The first one I found was titled "Unreal..." and a long excellent review followed. As an excellent cook myself, I thought to try it out with a colleague and drove 15 minutes to get there. What a disappointment this lunch was! There was hardly any sea food in it on Monday. The plates were in plate holders and very cold. The food quality was poor. There was no cooked shrimp on Monday. The vegetables were cold. The chicken in all dishes was overcooked and dried out. Inside the eggroll was only cabbage and it had no flavor whatsoever. The dumplings were oevercooked and hard and the wrapping tasted sour. The corn was overcooked and mushy. The fried bananas tasted rancid. In the fish warmer, there were two fish heads as a dish and no fish. No fish got delivered during the time I was there. When I asked one of the attendants why the plates were cold, she said "I don't know." The sweets were also terrible: the pudding tasted like powder, the tapioca had no flavor, the cakes were dry, the sesame balls were hard. The sushi bar had no small dishes for the soy sauce and the selection wasn't that good. Perhaps the restaurant was good in 2006 when the first review was written, but I can say that I wouldn't recommend this buffet to any of my friends. It needs a lot of improvement with the cooking, and, rightfully, it was empty. Big disappointment!

“UNREAL Seafood Buffet!”
Reviewed 30 September 2006

I have two places where I go to constantly for seafood when in the Denver area, which is much of the time. The L D Buffet is a weekly stop for me. I just looked at their business card and it is amazing that seafood is not in their name!

Since this place first opened about three years ago now, I have been a regular there. And yet I have to figure out how they do it! This is all you can eat. Hot steamed Dungeness crab! Steamed clams with black bean sauce! Several varieties of fish, several different preparations of shrimp, including large whole stir-fried shrimp, yum!

There is a sushi bar where they are making sushi to order. A “Mongolian” style grill section. Three large hot tiers of food and another of cold foods.

There are usually Blue Crabs halved and stir-fried! Yum! And there are also cold Snow Crab legs. Baby Octopus in a XO Sauce. Mussels served a couple ways.

Crispy roasted duck, BBQ pork ribs, several chicken and beef dishes. And a few choice veggies, like the fresh green beans that are first blanched and then quickly fried with minced garlic. Yum!

Then they also have a fruit bar, a dessert bar and to top it all off, REAL ICE CREAM! No! Not a machine! They have EIGHT, count them eight different 3 gallon vats of “You Dip It Yourself” honest to goodness ice cream! And usually always one of my most favorite flavors, cinnamon!

One of the things that has always held true for this place is the fact that there are many different nationalities eating here. The people that love eating seafood and lots of it flock here. Just the Dungeness Crab, all you can eat, makes this an incredible deal!

$10.95 Monday to Thursday and $11.95 the other three days! Amazing! You owe it to yourself to check out this place.
