The River Inn over looks the Apalachicola River and in fact is built on a pier over the water.
Rooms are clean and comfortable and reminded us of the Florida Panhandle 40 years ago. The Inns office is located in what appeared to have been a fish house of wharehouse and has a small liquor store the lobby. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
The site includes 2 restaurants, Boss Oyster and Carolines. There is sometning for every seafood lover at Boss Oyster but oysters 29 ways about says it all.
Carolines is sort of laid back sophisticated. Dinner was great and the breakfast to die for. The oyster omlet was fantastic and heard raves about the oyster cakes. We will return soon!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a better view of the river

Stayed one night at the Apalachicola River Inn as the first part of our 50th anniversary trip to the Florida panhandle. It is an older facility, but well kept, the room was very clean and overlooked the water. They included a free bottle of champagne with our stay. The adjoining restaurant (Caroline's) was an excellent choice for dinner, and breakfast the next morning was included in the price of the room and was also excellent. Although becoming somewhat "touristy", Apalachicola is still a refreshing bit of "old Florida".

We like this little hotel. It's right on the water - literally, if you look over your balcony you are over water. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. The Roseate Spoonbill Lounge is a fun place to meet friendly people or just have a drink overlooking the bay. Breakfast at Caroline's is top-notch and the hotel is in a good location in the old part of town.

We stayed one night at this hotel over the summer. Although they tried to make it comfy, there were just some things missing.

No hair dryer and if you are needing internet you have to walk down to the lobby (not in your rooms). The lobby closes pretty early so if you need something you are on your own. We also did not care for entering from the outside like a motel but the rooms themselves were okay. Comfortable beds and cute recently renovated bathroom. Great restaurant located on the premises and they offered you a free breakfast which was nice.

Overall I enjoyed the stay but my husband said he would not stay again without internet (he is one of those guys addicted to video games)...
