We love to travel and research the history of the area of where we travel. This attraction was not disappointing. Much to see and observe. The tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable.

A walk back in time to see the history of the area. A large Victorian home with period furniture formerly owned by a businessman and his family. The history of how he made his fortune and how he helped the economy of Apalachicola is interesting. The guide is to have to start you off and one can tour the home on your own.

If you're in the Apalachicola area, this tour is a must for understanding the history of the area. The park ranger was incredible -- not only did he share his involved research on the family and house to us, he made it interesting for the kids in our group as well. You can take the guided tour on the hour or do a self guided tour. I liked that things weren't roped off so we could see everything up close and almost everything is original to the Orman family.

The Park Ranger is a walking history of what was Apalachicola. The stories he told were unforgettable

For only $2 a person, the Orman House tour is a must. We want after eating the oysters in town -- another must -- and were really pleased. The park ranger was charming and one would think a distant relative of the Ormans themselves based in his knowledge and enthusiasm. The dresses were authentic as was most of the furniture and the slave quarter and mule she's outside. The final plus is that your receipt also gets you into St. George Island State Park!
