We recently stayed at the Water Street Hotel & Marina for four nights.

Our corner unit was situated so that we had beautiful views of the marina, waterway & marsh. We watched the moon rise over the water as we enjoyed "the night's silence" from our balcony. Sunrises were equally beautiful and we opened our living & bedroom balcony doors to greet each new day.

The condo unit was beautifully appointed, had TVs & Cable in the living room as well as the master bedroom. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils needed for cooking meals & also a full size dishwasher. A small clothes washer/dryer were nestled in a closet for our use. Photographs, of the condos living quarters, shown on Water Street Hotel & Marina's website are excellent depictions of how the rental units look.

Each and every employee (especially the ladies @ the check-in desk) were friendly and true examples of what Southern Hospitality is all about. They checked on us each and every day to make sure we were comfortable and not in need of anything.

Apalachicola is a quiet little town with some shops and several restaurants. Its old buildings and fishing boats provide nice compositions for photographers/artists. Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach are nice day trips just outside Apalachicola but are lacking in the laid back charm of this quiet little town.

The DeGroves & Abbey

Room Tip: Corner units offer a bit nicer views.

My husband needed a one night stay in Appalachicola to close on a recent beach home purchase and we opted to stay at The Water Street Hotel. By far this was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. We frequently stay at Ritz Carltons and I would put this hotel on the same level. Our room was a huge suite, with a living area, beautifully updated kitchen (granite countertops, stainless steel appliances) and two beautifully tiled bathrooms. The bed was super comfortable and our patio overlooked the bay for a lovely sunset. The front desk clerk was outstanding, offering a free glass of wine, free oysters just up the road, and suggestions on where to get a good Thin Crust Pizza (The Piggly Wiggly believe it or not!). This Hotel had every ounce of comfort you could ask for and if you are looking to get away for a few days and not have to eat out everynight, I would recommend you stay here. Definitely 5 star!

The room was great, fresh and clean as a whistle. this condo-hotel-marina is located in a charming little gulf-side village, a little artsy and very laid back. No night clubs and not too many bars, but a group of very good restaurants and fantastic views of Sciopio Creek and Apalachicola River. There is still commercial fishing of shrimp, fish and the big draw is the oysters.Very reasonable priced and the off-season is almost deserted. We will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a 3rd floor.

We stayed with 5 other families all of us with 2 children and had the best time! All the staff was so helpful and full of excellent recommendations for restaurants. The rooms were perfectly decorated, clean, updated and had many configurations to choose from. We loved our stay in Apalachicola!

Without question, this is one of the best hotels on the planet. Nedra and the wonderful folks at the front desk made our stay perfect. Their recommendations for restaurants set the standard for others to follow. Job well done!

Room Tip: Just ask for the best rate available.
