This hotel really should earn excellent reviews.
We stayed in 308, a superb two-bedroom suite overlooking the water, with high-quality furnishings, comfortable beds and every possible convenience you need for a relaxing stay.
The front desk was helpful and friendly, putting us in touch with Robinson's Brothers, an agency which in turn booked us Captain John who picked us up from the marina outside in his boat and led us on a successful half-day fishing trip.
So far, so great.
But then the Water Street Hotel and Marina lets itself down with a tacky piece of cheapskating.
An envelope begging for gratuities for housekeeping is left in the room. Not just for your house-keeper who is named on the envelope but all house-keeping ( " Since your Room Attendant may change during your visit,Management suggests that any gestures of gratuity be left in this envelope and placed at the Front Desk. " )
200 bucks a night and begging for tips ? Pay your housekeepers a decent wage and allow guests to leave whatever tip they feel like in whatever manner they wish without thinking they need prompting like idiots.
It's why this review which should have been Excellent is only Very Good.More
