I have played this course approximately 5 times. The most recent occasion was the prior Saturday morning. They are running a special for $29.95 + tax, which includes 18 holes plus cart, plus a buffett lunch and drink (soda or one draft beer). When I called, they did not mention that green fees plus cart on a Saturday are $24.00, which would have been nice to know.
The course is in mediocre shape. The greens are generally in marginal condition, however they are poor on a few holes. The course should be in great shape with a little attention to details. They were not busy, at all. We had a tee time at 7:24, but teed off a few minutes prior. We were the second group on the course. One redeeming quality, if you are learning to play, you will not feel bad if you leave a divot, as the course is not immaculate.
Customer service in the clubhouse is acceptable, althought the cashier was running late, so we did not pay until the turn, which is a minor inconvenience. On this day, they had someone working the beverage cart, which was a welcome change from the last time we played (6 weeks prior). Beer runs $3.00 for Coors Light or Michelob Ultra in a 12 oz can. The starter is a nice elderly gentleman, and we chated with him for a few minutes.
The buffett lunch was all you can eat, pulled pork, hot dogs, fresh fruit salad, homemade chips, and dessert. The chef and bartender were attentive and accomodating. The food was good.
RSR is worth a play, but it is not in the best shape. If you are local, I would give it a try.
